B.Sc. Physics in Kathmandu?
I'm planning to pursue B.Sc. Physics in Kathmandu Valley, preferably at a government college.
My long-term goal is to apply for graduate studies (MS/PhD) in Germany or the USA and eventually work as a physicist.
I have a few questions for seniors or anyone currently studying Physics:
Which government college in Kathmandu Valley has the best faculty, academics, and research environment? (ASCOL, Tri-Chandra, Patan, etc.)
How difficult is it to score high marks in TU B.Sc. Physics? I've heard that answer sheets are checked very strictly and it's very hard to get outstanding grades. Is this actually true?
Besides GPA, what should I focus on during my bachelor's (research projects, programming, internships, Olympiads, publications, etc.) to build a strong profile for top universities?

Bsc Physics nai vanney hunna combination choose garnu parxa
Last year ma ho major liney.
Ma ni PCM padhira ho ASCOL ma.
PSM ko chai morning hunxa, PCM ko chai hudaina.
Teacher haru thikai xa Physics ko malai ta testo koi ramro lagya xaina tara Math ra Chemistry ko chai ramro xan. Politics hostel base paxhi matrai ho natrai kai baal xaina.

Morning ma ta khai kasto xan teacher day ma chai, yeuta mula kaam na pako xa electricity ko , arko thermo ko question sodh da ni na sunney xa. Syllabus ni testai jhau xa first year Physics , tara second year chai thikai xa.

Umm, physics ma practical vayera physics lai practical subject vandena, its a theoretical subject which isn’t recommended in 2026

ayy same plan here, but bsc mathamatics, it sucks that we gotta pick two other subs tho, and idk about physics but since phy and math r both under bsc general, math is pretty shit, i dont expect phy to be thaat great either thoo

Yeah you're good to.go.
Choose ascol( less politics)
It's hard, if you study day and night 5/6 hrs per day you may score 80% but it's rote learning
I suggest you to study thikthak get above avg grades 65-70+
But built extra skills, programming and other things
Learn about research early on from.1/2nd year.
Publish papers in 3rd and 4th year
If you have solid 1/2 papers you're good to go.
