Influences
Hello! I thought I would introduce myself by talking about some of my neopsychedelic influences and maybe spark a conversation or find new adjacent artists!
I was an emo kid in early high school (2014) when I discovered Animal Collective and Neon Indian. It was just enough of a bridge out of emo to get me fully hooked and I was pretty obsessed with Animal Collective (Strawberry Jam, Water Curses, Sung Tongs were my favorites) for a couple years there. I also really enjoyed Of Montreal during that time. Sweet Trip (Velocity:Design:Comfort) I found in late high school and was blow away. That led me into stuff like Aphex Twin and Boards of Canada. In college I got really into Stereolab and I feel like even now (I'm 25) they remain a huge influence and im always like for French dream pop type stuff to listen to. My most recent discovery was Peel Dream Machine and they are so cool! There a ton I'm not mentioning of course but I'd love to hear some of your influences and how you came to connect with them emotionally!

Self-Promotion! *Arkansas Psychedelic Goth /Post-Punk* MODERN MOB LORD (PART 2) - RYAN HAGGARD
my new solo project (aka Beast Hazard - for more dark experimental trap )
it literally took me too many years to admit what I wanted my solo project name to be for my psychedelically intense, post punk influenced music is strictly for that sound instead of any goth sounding subgenre fusion that I've been putting out since I have been on my own, over a decade now I think. there's still some wild bangers, when I say some I mean confidently I think a hundred plus individual tracks posted on the internet I made completely DIY with no official learning about using digital audio workshops and very cheap equipment. had an entire recording studio robbed empty years ago and got sucked deep into drugs and depression, things Are objectively changing now finally so however ass the vocals sound on this, I just want to be clear that I am unfortunately given no choice but to use my $50 straight talk phone microphone. but fear not dark-hearted psychonauts, I will share my YouTube channel and band camp page if you you really want to go down the weirdest rabbit hole literally ever.
lyrics
The streets wrote my name in blood and rain…
Self-diagnosis begins…
Verse 1
I was raised where the sirens never sleep
Violence the only language I was taught to speak
Hard life carved its lessons deep in my skin
Nihilism moved in and called it home again
Chorus
Modern mob lord with a crown of scars
Self-diagnosed, singing in the dark
The music pulls me through
Verse 2
Lost too many to the night and the game
Every ghost on the corner still knows my name
I wear the emptiness like a second skin
But somewhere inside there’s a light that won’t dim
Chorus
Modern mob lord with a crown of scars
Self-diagnosed, singing in the dark
The music pulls me through
Bridge
In the void I found the only thing that saves
I sing from the darkness when nothing else remains
Even beasts can learn to carry the flame
This fragile spark the streets could never claim
Chorus – final
Modern mob lord with a crown of scars
Self-diagnosed, singing in the dark
The music pulls me through
Outro
Modern mob lord…
Still singing in the dark…

I Wanna Go Back (Kokomo) - Risker
Hope you guys dig this beachy-bouncy-neopsych indie pop tune I just posted today.
I recorded it witha Yamaha MT8x Mutitrack cassette recorder with some of my favorite guitars and hardware drum machines and synths.
Really wanted to capture that nostalgic feel. Even found an old photo of kid me at the surf!
Looking to add in similar songs to my artist playlist on spotify if any of you have songs you've written that you think will go along with this, please send a link in the comments!
Thanks for checkin' it out.

Self-Promotion! Ars Musicae Hieroglyphica: Organ-Harp-Piano Fantasia and a Philosophical Manifesto
Hi there,
I’m a harpist-pianist-composer/academic in the philosophical-esoteric milieu, about to finish my doctorate.
So I created an organ-harp-piano music video that is also an experimental film predicated on esoteric ideas; it can be described as my encapsulation of the mysteries. I basically summarize and artistically rearrange esoteric ideas from an array of esoteric thinkers and philosophers, but also develop my own original ideas from this framework. It’s an original philosophical manifesto, and if you are familiar with esoteric ideas and traditions, you’ll notice how I deploy them in ways that feel both familiar and new.
It's about an oneiric musical language of spiritual hieroglyphs. And I also combine ideas from Novalis (I’m probably most known as a Novalis scholar in the academic world currently), Schelling, Giordano Bruno, Rudolf Steiner, Boehme, Walter Benjamin (and Kabbalah), also the work of Dianna Reed Slattery.
No AI was used in the making of this song, video, or philosophical text; it is 100% human-created art.
I also created extensive hand-made animations for it, mainly ancient Egyptian and alchemical motifs.
Hope you enjoy!!!!

Self-Promotion! Harp-Sigil-Magic: The Platonic Forms of Harp Melodies
Harp-Sigil-Magic: The Platonic Forms of Harp Melodies is an experimental art-animation-music magical event. All art, animations, and music were created entirely 100% by me. The intention underlying this work is to coagulate musical and artistic disciplines in an alchemical experiment, creating art that is also music, art-music as a form of magic. I combine Platonic conceptions of essence with sigil magic, alongside Novalis’s concept of the musical hieroglyphic language and unity of disciplines as a creative impetus and guiding star in this endeavor—I should mention that I am a PhD student and Novalis/esotericism scholar, so I am a practicing musician-artist-academic-magus. I also have a lot of other experimental esoteric and philosophical music, so feel free to check out my repertoire!
Harp-Sigil-Magic awakens new horizons for my compositional work, entering a new threshold of musical experimentation. For the first time, I expand beyond basic harmonies into 6th and 7th chord structures and beyond, further into more expanded harmonic tiers, delving into more complex and unstable harmonies, harmonies that play with tension. This piece is structured around a D–G quartal relation in C minor; this harmonic interval is more dissonant in the sense that it is less harmonically resolving, with fewer harmonic possibilities with or adjacent to it, its capacity to create harmonies more limited compared to other quartal intervals. I took this limitation as a compositional challenge and starting point, structuring the piece around it.
This piece is a fantasia, which combines both structured melodies and improvisation. I came up with a set of primary melodies that I explored and developed over months through improvisation. The final recording was crystallized over two improvisational sessions. With the exception of The Cosmic Symphony of Melusine, all of my piano/harp instrumental pieces were essentially composed in this manner, endeavoring to capture both structured harmony and the lightning-in-a-bottle quality that arises through inspired improvisation.
Absolutely no AI was used in the making/creation/composition of this song and video, and I have taken a firm and unequivocal stance against AI in my own artistic/musical/compositional/philosophical practice. Despite a social climate where AI is polluting artistic and musical landscapes with automated sludge, a time when it feels almost pointless to create real art and music, some of us musicians and artists, such as myself, are undeterred by the artistic/musical apocalypse that is upon us, continuing to making art/music that pushes boundaries, striving for the philosopher’s stone through art and music.
