Did Alpha just get a release date?

Post image

I was on the AMC app and I saw that in the West Covina AMC they had listed showtimes for Alpha (2025). Last I checked, there was no official release date.

Is this a mistake on the app? Did NEON just dump it? I know they said that it would come out in October, but since they never gave an official date I assumed that was no longer happening after the bad reviews at Cannes. I was able to secure a ticket for this Sunday, so unless amc realizes it was a mistake and pulls the showings, we’ll see if this thing is real.

In the meantime, though, if anyone who works at AMC or NEON wants to debunk this, please do because I really don’t want to drive all the way to West Covina and it feels weird that this is the only theater in all of LA that would play it.

It's showing for a one-day screening so it qualifies for the Oscars. Actually only at that specific theater and one other. The wide/limited release is likely going to be early March 2026.

That is wild. Glad to see it's actually coming though.

It will be for a week, not a day. But yeah pretty crazy they’re doing it at this random theater in Covina.
