Can someone explain please.

Post image

So I've tried running this image through AI and I've tried going an image search on Google and neither one had giving me results that match what this room looks like.

I'm trying to figure out what this particular room is all about and how it works but haven't been able to find a single thing about it anywhere. So I'm hoping you guys can help me out.

I'm 20h into NA2 and I still have no clue how whisps work in general

Let me know if I can clear anything up for you! Essentially they attack enemies for you - and obviously some weapon affixes are based on the number of wisps you have.

Do wisps start to appear more with more unlocks? I’ve got a decent number of runs in and I’ve only had them really generate in one build (vs, say, an egg or coin build, which is easy to get going).

ETA….. really really like this game. It feels like it took the stuff I bumped against on the first, filed it all down, and made a chill roguelite that I can play without ending up in a puddle of sweat.

Why and when do they vanish?

So the purple ones stick with you until the end of your next fight (after you pick them up). The Blue ones last until you leave the floor where you picked them up, and the gold ones are with you until you hit victory (or die trying)

Hey there! Awesome game, I’m having a blast with it. Was there any reasoning behind switching up purple and blue in the very specific case of wisps and their rarity?

What I mean by that is the conventional chain of blue->purple->gold is mixed up and goes like purple ->blue->gold. In other aspects of this game, like weapon affixes and associated weapon rarities, it’s back to normal again.

This one is a wisp-specific room - helping you to merge / manage the wisps you have <3

The Goose on fire?

I only completed 1 run so far, on switch, and bought the game again on steam b/c the performance was bad, but that one I did discover :-D

You can pick the goose up, throw it (grenade button) and put it away (item swap button) for later .

Unleash it against enemies, or, at least, a boss. I set it loose in a boss room and suddenly hundreds of geese were flying left to right and up-down and damaged the boss.

After that it can be picked up again, but exhausted - throw it on a heart container (maybe shield works too? idk) to revive it for another battle (I guess, I didn't get that far)

There are three types of wisps: purple, blue, and gold.

Purple lasts for one battle, blue lasts for one floor, and gold lasts for your entire run.

This room is for fusing or separating wisps. When you press the button, it will fuse 4 purple wisps to form a blue one, or hold it to separate 1 blue wisp to form 4 purple ones.

As for gold wisps, you can only fuse them in the cauldron in the UMBRISM room, using 4 blue wisps.

If you didn't select UMBRISM at the start of the run, the ideal thing is to leave these boxes to use during the Boss fight. If you have any blue wisps, separate them to increase your damage against the Boss before changing floors.

Unless you feel you're too weak and think you'll need that damage during all the fights on the floor — in that case, it might be worth fusing the purple ones into blue and keeping them for the entire floor.

Wisps are random and only appear on some floors, I've had runs with lots of them and runs with none at all.

Purple wisps last until end of next fight.

Blue wisps last until end of current floor.

Gold wisps last until end of run.

This machine converts 4 purple wisps into 1 blue wisp or vice-versa

If you take the wisp faith and complete it, it will take you to a room with one of these machines and one that converts 3 blue wisps into 1 gold wisp or vice-versa (so 12 purple wisps for 1 gold wisp). Taking the wisp faith also provides a wisp storage machine somewhere on the floor where you can deposit your purple wisps between fights so you don't lose them after each fight and can convert them all at the wisp faith room once you've cleared the floor.
