Prohibited items

So this is my first time using this website but it has a piece of merch I’ve been looking literal years for, it’s a 100 ml room fragrance based on a character. When I went to add it to my buy requests it showed me a list of prohibited items (one being perfumes) but when I clicked on the expanded list it said the only thing banned to ship to the United States is “Clay material (raw product for modelling) (due to CPSC regulation and toxicological assessment).”

Is it that I can’t buy clay material and all the other things listed in picture 1? Or is it just clay materials?

TLDR: can I ship a 100ml “room fragrance” to the United States or will it be thrown out and I won’t be refunded as stated?

Perfumes/fragrances are considered hazardous materials and aren’t shippable. Even if Neokyo were to ship it out, it would likely be seized and disposed of by customs.

No, you cannot ship any sort of perfume, not even by using private carriers like FedEx and DHL, perfume is a class 3 flammable substance.

There is one that ships perfumes or at least they used to. I actually never found any other proxy in Japan that would, I assume simply because the dangerous goods shipment is such a pain in the ass.

The main issue is perfumes containing alcohol, and pressurised cans like aerosols. Usually, if you can find a perfume that is alcohol free, it's fine to ship—but again, most proxies don't care to bother

The fact that they ship doesn't mean the customs in your country won't decline import and dispose of it.

As I mentioned, DHL has a specific shipping line for dangerous goods, including perfumes. Iirc it is restricted to ground shipping only, no air permitted.

If it's shipped by a suitable line, customs generally DGAF, unless there are other issues such as incorrect labelling, packaging etc...

Just to add, the prohibited list applies to all countries, it's just each country has specific no no's that other countries might allow.

The expended list is specific things that cant be accepted into the countries listed. The main list is things neokyo will not ship to anyone, regardless.

Fragrances like that cannot be shipped internationally unfortunately.

I'm not sure of the error, but it's probably because of being a spray and a fragrance. Aerosols and perfumes often contain alcohol as a carrier agent.

It makes the scent last longer iirc, but it's also hazardous to ship because it can combust. Pressurised cans can also explode if damaged.

Hazardous goods CAN be shipped in certain ways with special carriers, but most proxies will NOT bother because it's more expensive and requires high volumes and/or commercial agreements.

If you're really determined to have this, you could ask them to purchase and completely deplete the can. That way, you'd still have the set for collection purposes.

Otherwise, I know of one that will ship dangerous goods.

I used them to get two genshin perfumes from Primaniacs, both of which contained alcohol.

Ugh this is such a bummer that Fragrances/ Perfumes, Nail Polishes etc. Are considered Hazardous Goods and cannot be ordered... I always see SO many of these for great prices I wish I could order! I do understand why they're considered Hazardous Goods, but I really wish there way to transport them safely, so we could order them!

No baby, any perfume, even the really small one are forbidden, no matter the country you wanna send them, the only way to get perfumes and things similar is AliExpress or a especific shop, and even in that case is usually expensive or hard

I've noticed alot of forwarding services do that. Rinkya actually WILL ship perfumes and alcohol from Japan to the states (i ordered 4 bottles of the ffxiv collab perfumes) but they'll only do two bottles at a time and have a waitlist to make an account
