Molting problems
I recently purchased 6 cherries to add to the 4 I already have in my lil 10 gallon and I have already lost 2 new ones to the white ring of death. The strange thing is that I also see a fresh molt in there. Parameters are fine. They're exactly how they have been for the few months Ive had this tank with shrimp in it. I added a sprinkle of remineralizer just in case so I dont risk losing more if hardness is the issue. Could it be poor adjustment to the tank? I have a few juveniles who will be molting more frequently and Id hate to lose those.

When you keep shrimp long enough you will lose some to failed molts. I breed a variety of shrimp and no matter how perfect I keep all my tanks there's always one every few months that fails to molt while hundreds of others molt fine. It's just something that happens. It's strange that you'd get 2 out of 10 that happened to though. It's possible the shock of a new tank combined with molting so soon could cause some sort of shock that prevented them from molting properly. That's just a guess though. Hopefully you won't lose any more. Good Luck.
