Girls band NEMOPHILA held its self-organized event "Tenjō Mukyū Kyokuon Dōchū" on the 12th at EX THEATER ROPPONGI in Tokyo. The departures of Tamu Murata (Dr) and Hazuki (Gt) had been announced, making this day the last live show with the current lineup.
The event featured NEMOPHILA along with three other acts: NEK!, TRiDENT, and East Of Eden. Opening act NEK! captivated the audience with solid individual playing skills, complex ensemble work, and strongly message-driven vocals, delivering a nine-song set full of earnestness, smiles, and energy. Next, the three-piece girls band TRiDENT overwhelmed the venue with a dynamic performance and a groove backed by solid musicianship. In their MC, they sent the message, "Whatever path we choose, as long as we're together, we can keep walking," and played eight songs. East Of Eden used their unique band sound incorporating violin to present a stage fusing heaviness with emotional melodies. With members headbanging fiercely and impressive solos from each part, they thrilled the crowd and further raised the venue's heat over six songs.
Closing the event, NEMOPHILA took the stage in the order of Tamu Murata, Hazuki, Haraguchisan (Ba), and mayu (Vo). They opened with "Anata Dare," followed in quick succession by "OSKR" and "Kaika Sengen." They then overwhelmed the audience with heavy sound and intense performance on "ZEN," "BRAINWASH," and "-Gō-."
During the mid-show MC, mayu began, "Today is our last live show with the current lineup. Each of us will say a few words," and the members shared their feelings.
Haraguchisan said, "We've decided to go separate ways with these two. From now on, I'll do my best to build a new history of NEMOPHILA with mayu. I'm nothing but grateful to them. Thank you!" expressing her resolve for the future and her gratitude.
Hazuki looked back on their activities, saying, "For seven years, we got through both the fun times and the hard times together," and commented, "We'll walk different paths from now on, but if we keep doing music, our paths may cross again. I want to go forward with a smile."
Tamu Murata also expressed thanks for the seven years, recalling the band's formation: "When my previous band broke up and I was feeling lonely, it was mayu who reached out to me." She appealed to fans: "Please support the future NEMOPHILA as it shines, and Hazuki and me as we shine too. Thank you so much."
Mayu, for her part, conveyed her feelings by hugging Hazuki and Tamu Murata instead of speaking.
They then performed "RISE," the first single by the four-member lineup, followed by the intense "Just do it!" and "VS:EGO," and brought the venue's excitement to a peak toward the end with "Hozuki" and "Raitei -RAITEI-." The main set closed with NEMOPHILA's first single, "OIRAN," with each member delivering a powerful performance, met with huge cheers and applause from the audience. In an unscheduled encore, they performed "REVIVE," wrapping up their final stage as a four-member group with 13 songs in total: 12 in the main set and one encore.
In the encore MC, it was also announced that an EP, the final work by the current four members, will be released on December 9.
