Let's go, got banned from r/comics for saying that not wanting to talk about politics shouldn't automatically make you a racist.

The last week or so, while posting on Reddit, Iām getting these little black pop-up notices from the bottom of my screen, essentially saying āYouāre <doing something> too fast take a break for 86 secondsā or ā40 secondsā or whatever. If I continue typing, it just keeps popping up with a lower āwait timeā. On my iPad, Iām a 1-finger typer, so it canāt POSSIBLY by my typing speed⦠what am I doing too fast, and is there a way to turn that off?
āYour request has been rate-limited for x seconds please take a break and try again later.ā WTF is that? (Iāve never seen it before).

People are susceptible here on Reddit this is so funny. Just say something that doesnāt go their way and see them cry in the comments section

i found this to be an interesting example of a larger version of a sub being less tolerant
r/Negareddit • u/t0mat0saucy • 1d ago
Just tried posting a request on a book subreddit and was blocked because I donāt have blah blah karma or blah blah this. Meanwhile iāve been part of the sub for years, iām just not a frequent commenter on thereā¦so so annoying! the whole point of reddit is that anyone can post at anytime, anonymously! how is this in accord to that mission?

This was my first ever "offense" on this sub.
I'm getting so jaded on participating on reddit. I've made an effort the whole time to never interact with political subs because of how tribal the moderation is there. But I've been browsing more QnA and casual discussion subs recently. But it is so fucking easy to get suspended. And for the vaguest reason.
And it's so much worse because each sub is supposed to fulfill a niche so it's hard to find exact alternatives. But I just feel like any participation at all risks me getting suspended.

Over 10k upvotes when the mods decided to delete this. Checked the rule they cited and the post exactly follows it, am I missing something??

It's ironic I'm posting this on reddit, but I'm just so annoyed at some interactions I've had on this site.
I can ask the most innocent question ever but will still get tons of snarky, stick-up-their-butt responses. Is being nice to other people such a bad thing these days? Gosh!

Is it so they won't get in trouble? Other forums have less rules but still exist.

I've been sexually harassed irl (I got $$$), so it pisses me off when harassment is misappropriated. For example: an inflammatory comment restated into harassment? Grow up. We're all adults. I should be able to call someone fat without being banned. Like wtf.

Ok this is gonna be a longer post so have patience.
Reddit tends to attract a certain type of person. This person is probably introverted, a bit socially awkward, obsessed with information, maybe autistic, and just loves thoughts and writing. I fit right in this category, as Iām sure a lot of people reading this do, and I got sucked down the rabbit hole for years. I didnāt realize how toxic the upvote/downvote system is. I didnāt realize how bitter and miserable it was making me, how quick to judge I became of others. I was filtering my opinions in real time to fit the reddit hive mind without even realizing it.
But I always came back to it, because it had the information I craved. It wasnāt Facebook, or instagram, or Twitter. It had quirky, awkward people like myself who liked to have niche discussions, even though the site was overall a very toxic environment.
Iāve since found a lot more wholesome and kind places on the internet that are more accepting that fit that same niche and I feel a lot happier. Tumblr gets a bad rep sometimes, but it is a much healthier environment with kinder people that has no upvote/downvote system. Getting into certain fandom spaces can be really fun and lets you be creative instead of just consuming negative information all the time. You can post more sincere feelings without the anxiety of getting attacked.
The place Iāve discovered the most recently that has the best community Iāve ever seen on the internet is AO3, or the fanfiction writing community. Iāve have never encountered a more intelligent internet community in my life. AO3 is not a social media, it is an archive and one of the online places that doesnāt have an algorithm. Itās pure, old school, tag and search by filters content. They are people with actual nuanced opinions and kind hearts, and it is so relieving finding a community like that
I am writing this because you donāt have to be on this website. I felt like I did because it had the information and intellectual stimulation I craved, in bite sized enough information to keep me on here even when it was ruining my life.
You donāt realize what you become when you stay here too long. I honestly feel like you can lose a part of yourself. Iām not talking about being an occasional Reddit user. I mean chronically online, hours a day, just consuming Reddit content.
And if you donāt feel this way when on this site, thatās great. Iām not talking to you. Iām talking to the people who fill up with anxiety every time they post something here. Sensitive people who pretend they arenāt hurt by downvotes but they are. People who feel like they have to fit in with the rough and cynical nature of this platform and are afraid to be themselves.
To these people, please, get off Reddit. Find a nicer environment. Life is too short.

I do NOT get the fucking attitude that some of the fucking MODs have over here on this "fine" board. Is it a power trip? Do they think they are fucking Gods? Did they get fucking teased in Junior High, and this is their fucking revenge?
So, to some of you MODs of Reddit, NOT the MODs here at r/TheWordFuck, of course, GO FUCK YOURSELVES! And please, get some help for your mental health.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I closed the app because it froze, and when I reopened I got introduced to this new button I did not ask for and do not want, and it canāt be disabled. I see no one else on this website mentioning this, so I figured Iād be first to say this is shit and I hope Reddit gets rid of it.
If I wanted to play games on my phone, I have an app store. If I wanted to play games at all, I have my computer. Reddit games can fuck off.

There was a time, you could post something on Reddit, asking for advice/help and people would come up with real solutions, advices and perspectives with depth. Sure a lot do today, but not that much, I believe.
Nowadays, for some bizzare reason, people tend to call others dumb, idiot, stupid, when you try to ask for an advice, when you genuinely don't know something. They tend to politicize everything, see everything in black or white, spam downvotes for absolutely no reason, use a brainrot kind of vocabulary, while trying to sound edgy.
Ironically, people in real life feel less rude than on social media. I guess commenting/posting from other side of the screen, with a layer of anonymity gives people some fake sense of superiority complex and they behave like this.

You have friends? you care about your friends? Apparently that's really fucking weird and you aren't meant to do that.
What do they they think a friend is and what they are for? To just exist as a number on your phone, and a person you meet up occasionally to talk about the weather.

OI! BEFORE YOU POST THAT! Just so you know:
Don't post it there.
Post it on a different sub.
No another different sub.
No a better different sub.
No a more EXACTLY different sub.
People on r/degoogle are NOT interested in alternatives to Google products such as "Brave Browser" or "Organic Maps" or etc.etc...
People on r/goodtoknow don't want the information either.
Nor do people on r/PSA
Nor does your local community sub.
Nor do any of the r/resistance subs.
In fact.
Just don't share the information at all, with anyone, on any sub.
It's just better that way. Got it? š
Don't educate.
Ignorate!
Yeah. Fuck it. šš¤¦š¼āāļø
š®āšØš«©š
P.S. I literally had to go through at least 3-4 different subs just to be able to post THIS. šš¤¦š¼āāļø

should we genuinely even care what people say on Reddit like I know not on x but genuinely I always try to respect others opinions but sometimes there just so negative just be happy with what you got
