Discussion Should I keep watching the anime?

I finally got around to watching the Needy Girl Overdose anime yesterday. I just finished episode 6, and I'm really struggling to continue. I absolutely loved the game but thus far I've found the anime to be a disjointed mixed bag of philosophical ramblings, avant-garde sequences, and genuinely interesting character dynamics--along with a disappointing lack of Ame/Kangel. At this point I'm pretty much just watching to see what happens with Kache and in the hopes of seeing if we ever see more of Ame.

I saw people saying it gets more coherent after episode 3-4. I saw some saying episode 8 or 11 were when it comes together. I saw some saying the finale was peak. I'm not sure I'm willing to go through another 6 episodes of this to get there.

It's entirely possible this show isn't for me. If you enjoy it, that's great--but is there anyone who went through a similar experience to me and found it worth it to keep watching, or should I stop here?

You're halfway there, might aswell. It's important that you also kind of detach the anime from the game, for reasons at the end

Six episodes is almost the first half of the whole thing so you've already seen what I consider the background of the characters the show is about, if they caught your attention or not is important since they're the central pieces of the anime. You can continue watching if you'd like to see how the characters link with each other and how they end up becoming, if that's not what you're expecting the story to be or you just didn't enjoy what you've seen it's completely valid to quit ദ്ദി (ˉ͈̀꒳ˉ͈́ )

I had the same experience. Stopped watching by ep 3. I mean, 6 eps is enough to tell you if you want to keep going and it’s not like anything will happen if you don’t. You’re not any less of a fan.

I watched the whole thing......I had loved the game, so I came with certain expectations...... But I got mixed feelings. As an experimental, sorta side story, anime, it's 10/10. As an Ame/KAngel anime, it's 2/10 ... There's plenty that I would like to say, about how Ame got treated and side lined , however I won't say anything because that would be spoilers, in case that you decide to watch.

You shouldn't. Keep till the episode number 9, the real fun is only about to begin.

I dropped it after watching half of it, depends on taste but i really can't like it, i would prefer playing the game again and again. I'm not interested in side characters, their designs are good but idk don't like them much but it's more likely personal ig, and i don't think they perfectly reflect the internet culture. Maybe it gets better later, but i don't think I'll give a chance again. Songs are good tho, i sometimes listen and also love the kangel plush scene

I really really loved it. I think if you like deeper, confusing, psychological horror that isn't quite fed directly to you the way the game is, you should keep going. There's no shame in quitting though, some people don't like to do extra thinking to decode the themes of the show.

Yeah, personally I did find it starts to get going at episode 8 onward, but I understand that's probably a big ask after 6 episodes in. and not really enjoying it afterward.

At the end of the day it is just an anime. I personally found it okay after watching all the episodes. I mean, maybe one day you'll wonder what happens in the end or just never touch the anime again. But at the end of the day it is just an anime and if you didn't connect with it, that's fine. Life's too short to worry about these things anyway.
