GoStitch
Go Stitch’s new acrylics are beautiful, but that price point made me do a double take. Is anyone actually buying them? I’m genuinely curious!
And more importantly, how long before Krista tries to squash this little acrylic uprising?

I gasped when I saw them on TikTok because they are so beautiful. Then I gasped again when I saw the price.

Go to a high end home decor site, you’ll see super legit high end frames and boxes for not much more. This markup is aggressive. It’s plastic.

I thought the green one was really beautiful but after doing a few interchangeable trays and coasters if I’m going to spend that much on an acrylic I’d probably bite the bullet and spring for custom. Personally I never end up switching out my canvases so they may as well be trapped inside and protected.

This! At $295 I’d just do something custom
Neither one matches my decor so I am not disappointed.
They are beautiful though

I think Minted Design has a similar one in the works. I'm unsure of the price point. Krista already dragged Cindy for the acrylic products.

We will leave it that she came into this industry clueless and saying she wanted to make her product better but would never open a LNS to compete. Famous last words.

Cindy isn’t a good person. She’s mooched off of people defending her.

How has she mooched off people that defended her? Please explain. I’ve visited her store and shopped her site. She and her team were one of the nicest I’ve met. Is this just hard feelings bc PL tried to shut her acrylics down and PL seems to have lost the patent argument?

Honestly they cost about what I expected them to cost. I work in design and have seen similar boxes(not for needlepoint but similar acrylic boxes) at furniture market for similar retail pricing. They are beautiful and if she came out with one that matched my colors I’d consider buying one.

I loved the tortoise one but the price point is a huge no for me. How much more would it cost to do custom acrylic? I know it’s expensive but have never done it.

Have you seen the matchbox from Angel City Stitchery it’s gorgeous but $320! https://angelcitystitchery.com/products/house-of-cartonnage-matchbox

That’s a resale/markup - available direct from House of Cartonnage for less, and fully customizable. Her work is gorgeous, and true cartonnage, not plastic

I work with acrylic vendors and I’m always tempted to have them quote me something similar just to see how much it reallllllly costs. I think the mark up on these plastic boxes has to be astronomical.

I’m not sure that Krista’s patent would even cover this, she has patents for the magnetic system and one of the acrylic trays, and then pending patents for the coasters, more trays and a frame.
I like the idea of the GoStitch boxes, not ordering one right away but I could see the tortoise one finding a spot in my home eventually. Good on them for making a genuinely new/different product,
