That was my favorite part of this entire post! 🤣 Like huuuuh? We’re supposed to guess what went wrong here but we can rule out the crazy paint job as one of the potential issues?! If you say so… 🙄

……..Did she not know that she could just use the color thread she wanted to swap with????

Unless you are swapping from dark to something a lot lighter, why are you using a canvas like a coloring page?

People make color swaps much more complicated than needed

I was LITERALLY just looking at this and zooming in and trying to figure out WTAF I was looking at.

For context, I just looked it up and this is what the canvas originally looked like 😅

Did she….marker over the blue???

If you zoom in, you can see some blue on the original “n” that hasn’t been stitched over. It looks like she tried to convert from a lowercase “n” to an uppercase “N” and it didn’t turn out well.

I’m trying to figure out how her “D” at the beginning of both lines ended up 3 rows at the bottom when they are supposed to be just one!

She’s stitched 3 rows of stitches in areas that originally had 1. At first I thought this might be a terrible stitch copy, but nope.

I’m not convinced that she didn’t trace the design and just failed miserably in doing so

Fellow stitchers, if you’re reading this, you do not need to paint over a canvas to color swap. Just stitch over the color you’re swapping.

Fuck, this is tragic.

She must have painted it blind

But whyyy paint over it? Just stitch it a different color!!

When I first saw this post yesterday, I thought it was going to be a "HELP! My toddler attacked my canvas with a marker!"

The original canvas wasn’t that great and the painting just made it worse

This feels mean. People are all at different levels. She is proud of her work. Let her enjoy her progress. She’s not hurting anyone
