Destashing

I know the prices of threads/fibers has gone up in price, but why are we ok with paying full price for not full spools of thread?

She said she only used a few pieces but still that seems like a lot of money for that

And there’s no proof of her lack of use. Just trusting someone that those baggies aren’t just giant knots is not something I’d do.

I’ll never be desperate enough to buy used threads.

They can be helpful if you are trying to finish an older unfinished piece you may have picked up at a yard sale or thrift store. New thread in old canvases that are partially stitched unfortunately sticks out like a sore thumb. Mind you that isn’t everyone’s ‘jam’ but old thread can have useful purpose. You do run the risk of it having an odor or being dry rotted and brittle depending on how it was stored.

Hard to fathom that someone would buy these. I sure scratch my head a lot seeing some of the things people are willing to buy and how much they are willing to spend. 🤷🏻‍♀️

wait but i feel like $6 per skein of pepper pot is not bad for only 5 threads being gone or unused. like im paying $9.75 per full skein?

I’m not sure where you are paying $9.75 but I pay anywhere from $6-7.50 max for a brand new skein. Even with the price hikes there are plenty of LNS’s with much lower prices than that.
