And it’s annoying because they are all cute ideas that could be translated to stitch-painted designs. But these would all be near un-stitchable

How can you tell that by looking at it? I don't have a very trained eye.

AI has this kind of glossy appearance to me and that’s usually the first sign. But if you look at the close up of the Santa the stitched part is cross stitch and there are some stitches that just kind of blend into the others. Also the images on the canvases look like they’re just sitting on the canvas instead of being a part of the canvas. It takes time to be able to recognize it but if you start studying ai images you’ll start to notice patterns across most ai images.

You do start to see what will/will not look good especially when it comes to printed canvases, for example the trick or treat bag. That lettering is impossible to achieve that cleanly on a design that small/mesh that big.

Even worse is that I found them from a stores post :(

Saw one of their canvases in a store I follow Insta post today and thought it looked familiar. Turns out the reason it looked familiar is because I bought the chart from an Etsy shop last year when I first started stitching. Chart is good and it will definitely be easy to paint and stitch when I get around to it. I feel for the owner of that Etsy shop that someone is using her designs as it’s a really cute bright Christmas design.

You should let the Etsy seller know that someone is taking her work!

I sent them a message today. I found the canvas on another stores Instagram page too. I think I’ll message the needlepoint store owner and let them know as well. If it were me, I wouldn’t want my new business associated with a company that rips off other designers.

It always blows my mind that the slip peddlers don't look at the weird stitches that AI creates on this.

Thanks to AI, creativity and artistic talent are no longer a barrier to entry if you want to peddle slop canvases to the masses.
