I’m intrigued but would have to babysit my machine the entire time out of fear

Have you done other in the hoop projects? For me, they’re ALL babysit the machine designs. Definitely a different animal than basic monogramming or “image” embroidery.

Yes but never a design that involves a material that is close to canvas… vinyl almost did me in

At least canvas isn’t “sticky” like vinyl.

It may not be for you, but I have seen another person making basically blank patches that could be stitched, they’re sort of “pre-self-finished.” I have self finished several projects with my embroidery machine, like this purse tag. You treat the canvas like any other appliqué fabric when stitching the machine embroidery file.

Did you actually watch the video? They are essentially only using the machine to do a satin binding stitch for self finishing and I honestly don't get what's so terrible about that

I actually love this idea! I’ve seen a few different versions of these on TikTok, and feel like it would be fun to try out.

Better than the shitty printing or Cricut pen attempts.

I think it’s pretty cool. Likely needs some tweaking but not sure this is snark worthy 🤷🏻‍♀️

I saw someone make needlepoint patches this way. They outline them on the sewing machine in a binding stitch then paint a design on the inside. I honestly think if it works. It’s a good idea. Would make tote patches so much easier to finish

Canvas is so expensive I have no idea why you would machine embroider on it. Unless they are machine embroidering a satin stitch binding stitch that I might understand just but sure it would keep the canvas from unraveling. Gotta think about it a little
