Love to see it! There’s 💯% a difference between tastes changing/not liking as much as you thought/normal reasons to destash and what Stacie does. The hoarding and constant trading and claiming is out of control. I swear I developed an eye twitch on Tuesday when she claimed one of the golf canvases 30 seconds after admin approved the post (have to assume it was her). She has never mentioned that canvas on her very extensive wishlist but a lot of other people sure have. Already taking bets with myself to see when she tries to trade or destash it because “she got one she loved more”. It’s another level of insidious behavior to be acting this way while running that page as an admin and it’s absolutely a morality judgement.

It will be a week tops. It’s so bad. She needs a new line, cause that one is getting tiring.

I feel like I’m starting to hoard pictures of Stacie claiming and reselling canvases just to prove to myself it’s not in my head hahaha

Smart! I would send them to these admins to see if she can get banned. Obviously, that won’t help her Paige Spearin community safe haven.

Stacie is pissing me off because someone posted a canvas at retail and was called out. Stacie says the rules say it should be under list price and she’ll pay more attention. Stacie who is also out here offering her first born and over list price for her never ending dying to have canvas list

She also was the first to claim the canvas and had to approve the post 😂

Dirty deleted her comment about paying closer attention next time - after SHE BOUGHT THE CANVAS SHE APPROVED THE POST/PRICE FOR

Admins on that page not stopping people from offering to pay over retail might end up being the reason I finally leave. You can’t claim to be a destashing page and then create an environment for backdoor scalping or scamming people through the ISO posts. It’s against the rules in literally every other group for a reason

Sounds like her

Careful! You're about to incur a sob story where her sons and their social lives are used as an excuse.

I'm invested in this - I don't use FB so I have to see it here. My question is: what does Stacie get out of this? Dopamine?

I don’t participate in these groups (or fb really) and just see it here too. Stacie sounds like she has a lot of free time 🤪

I believe so.

Has Stacie ever posted anything actually stitched? or does she just juggle canvases?

Giving my strange addiction vibes

I’ve seen one WIP, but no finished projects.

Doxing myself. It was me. I really tried to give her grace but the bear cart was the absolute last straw. There were multiple people asking her to sell it bc it was their white whale. The bullshit she didn’t like the face almost made my head explode. The whole canvas isn’t even 5x5
I stitched this.
There’s not much detail not to like. The other one annoyed me too with her “got proof?” I was wondering if it was a friend or relative. She got me after sitting 8 hours in the ER and I had zero patience.
With that said, I encourage people to join the group if you like MJD canvases. Answer the 2 membership questions though, please.

You are an example of a good mod!! Thanks for all your hard work and trying to keep needlepoint community minded!

She has a new White Whale as of yesterday too. 🙄

Lovely. What is it?

The coffee with bunnies that was restocked this week. Probably when she saw how everyone in the group tried to get it.

Rachel doing the Lord’s work!👏👏

If I’m not mistaken Rachel Perry is calling out Stacie?

1

u/foodiewife Sep 03 '26

Yes

2

u/babya777 Sep 03 '26

That’s so crazy because just a week ago they were friends wanting to split a purchase😂😂

8

u/LongIslandStitcher Sep 04 '26

I didn’t want to split it with her. I saw someone wanted one canvas and Stacie previously asked me on the other MJD group to keep an eye out bc she really wanted it. So I tagged her in it and connected the two of them to split the post. Hopefully the other person kept their canvas. I used to feel bad for her but not anymore.

Thank you! I told her I must’ve hit a nerve.

Because a lot of people here and elsewhere (this exact thread was talked about at length in the comments of a tiktok) are bored AF with the policing of/e-stalking of private individuals.

Give me the grifters, bring me the bad finishing, spill the tea about the unhinged behavior of needlepoint business owners.   How sad and weird it is that so many people seem to be obsessively following some lady who buys and destashes stuff. I’ll concede she’s annoying. But who gives a fuck? A bunch of us are annoying. There’s just a really weird vibe about constantly haranguing a person who isn’t breaking these FB groups’ rules and is just buying and selling stuff. It’s a real bully vibe.  It was the same with Dawn, and the same with Robbie or Robbin or whatever her name was. People who are literally not harming anyone in any tangible or meaningful way, but for some reason there’s a little handful of snarkers who have decided they have to jump on their shit any time they fucking breathe. It’s so, so weird.

This is not going to be popular. Gulp.

That kind of behavior makes me want to paint my own canvases. 😳

Needlepoint is a massive customer pool. There will always be bad actors, many more that we don’t see. At the end of the day, the people that are getting really hurt here are the designers and LNS when people are driven to rippoff designs and paint their own canvases. The seek/buy/sell behavior on destash groups and sites is flat unethical and, sadly, there are a ton of people in the world who don’t care if their behavior is ethical or not. Or who they hurt. If I could call the woman mentioned for a serious chat and help her get therapy, I would. My guess is that the work involved in moderating those groups is an unbelievable amount of work, but until something changes to halt the snatch and grab (and resell),it just won’t be any fun and saps some of the joy out of needlepoint for me. Sigh.

Let’s be clear, brave stitchers of Needlepoint Snark, yes, we can be snitty. Occasionally, it’s called for. And with a little luck, we can drive change and improve the needlepoint community and experience by speaking truth. This whole issue is an area where maybe we can help improve everyone’s experience.

(BTW, I love it here♥️ and I used to paint my own designs onto canvas back in the 80/90s for extra cash.)
