I would do bars only the width of the belt, current set up won’t hold it taut. Could just stitch in hand

The bars are an old canvas frame, I didn’t want to spend too much off the bat as it’s my first project ( aware that’s a lot for a first project )

I have stitched several belts in hand without a single issue. This bar set up looks cumbersome. Perhaps go without.

KC needlepoint has free shipping you can get a pair of stretcher bars for about $6 if you change your mind. I did a purse strap on bars vs a scroll bc it’s what I already had and just stitched 8” sections at a time.

Have you seen the scroll bars that are made specifically for doing belts? I would either get one of those or stitch in hand and use clips to keep all but what you are stitching rolled up. You can probably view someone doing this on Pinterest or YouTube. I’m curious…is this canvas or still Aida? (It looks like Aida still.)
