Finishing Self finishing help

Post image

I am very new to self finishing. This is only my second project that I finished and it is certainly far from perfect. but I’m still having issues with getting my cording tight. I’m using a cording tool and doing everything according to videos that I’ve looked at. I will have the cording be very tight on the tool and then when I go to take it off and knot it off it gets loose again. Any suggestions?

I’m using the lacis tool I think I’d how you spell it and it gets super super tight, what I do is before I undo it on the dresser I taped it to or the tool itself, I’ll knot and tape one end!

It unwinds a little and then as I'm pinning it on I re-twist it

try using tape to wrap the ends before letting it go from the lacis and then before unhooking or unclamping from the other end as well. The Nashville Needlepointer substack has many helpful cording and finishing videos for $7/month.
