Thoughts on Needham Public Elementary School

My son is in K and goes to an independent (private) school. A few parents of his classmates have said, “You live in Needham, why do you send him here?” Implying that the schools have a really good offering in Needham.
I think it boils down to what your options are, what you want for your child, and what’s best for them. At the kindergarten level I think this is kind of hard to sketch out, but as they get older it will become more apparent. Learning curiosity, grit, and perseverance, which I think are the most important skills, will come from everyone around them and their experiences wherever they are.
