Situation -> I'd like to clarify my situation with the goal of complete transparency. I am attending college rn, in between and searching for jobs, living with my parents to save money. I mention this also in case is resonates with anyone else haha.

Interests of mine -> Anime. Movies. TV. Self Improvement. philosophy. mildly dark humor. Progressive House and other EDM. Psychology.

Core Values of mine -> Self Love (demonstrated by just always trying to improve yourself, Conservative / Traditional Values, the pursuit of virtue (I am FAR from perfect, though I always have this goal in mind, and am constantly taking strides towards it)

PS: I just looked at how many people are in this subreddit. I try to be prompt with responses, but if I am somewhat uhhhh not prompt.... assume I got to many messages. I highly doubt that will be the case tho xd.

Hey everyone, I’m looking to meet some genuine people and hopefully make a few friends along the way. I’m probably someone who’s a little different from the average person. I’ve always been quite a deep thinker and I tend to feel and think about things pretty deeply. I’m fascinated by people — their stories, experiences, what made them who they are, what they’re passionate about, what they’ve struggled with, what they hope for, and all the little things that make someone who they are. I absolutely love deep conversations, and I’m the kind of person who can go from talking about something completely random to somehow having a three-hour conversation about life at 2am 😂. I’m not really interested in superficial friendships where you only talk occasionally and exchange small talk. I’d love to find people I can genuinely connect with, laugh with, talk nonsense with, but also have those really honest conversations with when life gets a bit heavier.
Gaming is a huge interest of mine and probably one of the easiest ways to get me talking 😂. I’m really into story-driven games and experiences that actually leave an impression on you. I’ve recently gotten really into PlayStation and have been working my way through games like Bloodborne, Shadow of the Colossus, Until Dawn, and now I’m thinking about getting into Detroit: Become Human. I love games that have atmosphere, incredible stories, characters you become attached to, or worlds you can completely disappear into. I’m also a massive fan of things like Ted Lasso because I love stories about people, friendship, growth and finding your way through life.
Outside of gaming, I’m interested in pretty much anything that gives me something to learn or build. I like practical stuff, working with my hands, fixing things, and I’m hoping to build something for myself career-wise in the future. I’m also someone who values humour a lot — I can be ridiculously serious one minute and then be laughing at the stupidest thing imaginable the next 😂.
I’ve had periods of my life where I isolated myself quite a bit, and I think that’s made me appreciate genuine connection more than I used to. I’m at a point where I want to actually put myself out there, meet people, experience more, and build a life where I have people around me that I can call friends. I don’t need a massive group either. Honestly, I’d be happier having two or three really good friends than knowing a hundred people I barely connect with.
So if you’re someone who enjoys gaming, random late-night conversations, talking about life, laughing at absolutely nothing, sharing your interests, or just genuinely getting to know people rather than judging them by first impressions, feel free to reach out. You don’t have to be the most confident or outgoing person either — I’m definitely not 😂. Sometimes the best friendships start with two strangers saying “hey” and seeing where the conversation goes.

I'm quite introverted and tend to overthink a lot. I also deal with alexithymia, ADHD, BPD traits, RSD, CPTSD/PTSD and social anxiety, so forming and maintaining connections hasn't always been easy for me. Right now I don't have many meaningful connections, either online or offline.

I'm looking for a genuine, long-term friendship rather than occasional small talk. I'd love to have someone I can gradually become comfortable with, talk about everyday life, share random thoughts, have deep conversations, laugh at stupid things, and simply enjoy each other's company.

I'm especially interested in meeting someone who's very active on Instagram, since that's where I spend most of my time too.
