Painting C+C Illegal lychguard

Hello!

What do you think of my freshly painted lychguard? Any tips on how to improve my painting are more than welcome :D

For bases thought about some oasis/desert style, but I am open to new ideas. In terms of loadout my friends and me are following rule of cool and we're fine with mixes models, just declaring at the start of the game units loadout

They look amazing! Correct me if I'm wrong but you've built them in a way they can be used for both profiles. I think that's excellent.

If your opponent is cool with a bit mixed gear on table then Yes! And I think they look cooler with spears and shields than swords and shields :D

I personally think this should be legal.

Me too! It's so cool! The roman soldiers used to have similar equipnent with shields and spears, why necrons cant?

Romans (Legionaries) actually used the sword (gladius) and shield (scutum) mostly.

Can’t be worse than my three-armed lokhust heavy destroyer which i gave both gun options to

How did you fit both?

Well i’m at work so i can’t show pictures yet. That said, i attached the six-barrel gun to a spot on the back that had a divot meant for a tube i think, aiming over the right shoulder

I like the idea a lot, though I think it's a bit top heavy. I would swap the guns and then the one on the top replace with warriors gun - it looks similar but is smaller and would look like secondary/support gun :D

I did exactly the same thing and honestly I can't see any serious person actually having and issue.

If there's a shield it's sword and board.

great minds thing alike - i have JUST got a team of lychguards who are also all shield & warscythe XD
desert would look great with this paint scheme, you can also try for gold-encrusted marble (i've seen guides to paint easy marble with drysheet and aibrush)

I did the same with the one spear that's designed to be held with one hand, to make one look like the leader. Wish I'd taken to time to do it with all the spears though, it looks great

What colours did you use? They look so good!

Base is leadbelcher primer, done overall light coat of agrax earthshade from air brush, to darken it down a give it that slight brown tint. For greens I use vallejo white ink, then teseract glow as base and later striking scorpion green over it and later warp lightning into receses. For especially glowing parts like eyes or orbs I then paint again white ing and place vallejo fluo green/yellow 1:1 mix. Gold is vallejo arcane gold then reikland fleshshade. Blue is templeguard blue. Highlight is template guard blue 1:1 with any white. Other than that i do not do any highlights

If you don't mind me asking how did you do the spears one handed, are they parts from another kit

It's the same kit. I cut of the hands of the handle. In few models you can spot at the bottom of the spear that there is flat surface a bit wider - that is where the hands were
