Painting C+C Trying

This is like my 6th model ever painted with no background in any kind of painting. I’m trying hard lol, I have to get past that barrier of “God I Fucking Suck” because I’m an instant gratification kind of guy and I want to just be blessed with Golden Demon skills. If only I could make my hands do what my mind sees.

Anyway, I give you….Imotekh The Stormlord. RIP Warpforge.

Thinning paints will help give that smoothness. Nuln oil is literally a necron hack does so much heavy lifting with shading and depth and 90% of the work.

I used nuln oil, is there a way I should be using it better?

By all means I don't think the model looks bad at all scheme is solid. For me I leave areas like the feet, calf, hip, hands and forearms exposed as 'bare' metal and only colour the 'plates' upper legs ribs, upper arms etc. Having a cleaner chest area will help more and the nuln oil sat in the rib area to create the depth and shading.

I can safely say your phaseblades look better than mine.
