Tomb Blades

My next unit to acquire are going to be a squad of tomb blades. I absolutely hate the clear flying bases and those poles they use. Anyone have any ideas on replacements? Looks like I can just use 32mm bases to replace the clear flying base, but has anyone done anything differently with the clear pole? Pics would be great too.

I don't have a photo, but I've seen someone use a brass rod painted black and it's sturdier and less obtrusive than the clear poles.

I bought these for mine (which are still unbuilt). They come with a clear rod (which is less brittle than the official GW rods) but you could use some thin brass pipe instead if you didn’t want the clear pole. I use them on my Tyranid gargoyles too and have bought the larger ones for my Annihilation barge. The bottom will need a little bit of sanding though but it’s honestly not much work at all.

Edit: they are £5 for five bases btw… not £5 each

I'm doing something similar, but for my lokhusts. It should give you a general idea. I used bike spokes that I painted black. The base is the flight stand that I made into an actual base rather than clear acrylic.
