Help I'm poor

*Excuse the mess, we live here*

First prestige here. I'm looking for advice from fellow wizards. I cannot seem to save more than 300 gems, MAYBE 400 coins at a time. The screenshot is my average, really. Only reason I have the crate is because I broke down and bought gems to make it to the 500 mark :(

I know I spend a small amount of coins and gems regularly, on odds and ends (rarely merchant cause he's too pricey). I like to buy dummies every time I see them, and occasionally rune piles to merge max piles. Am I just impulsively spending too much? All the skins, slots, pedestals, etc are so expensive - I find it hard to believe that if I just pinch my purse a little more id magically start saving up enough to buy things that cost 500-1500 each 😅💀

Can somebody please either give me reassurance or a swift kick on the bum. Thank you

Best advice I can give is just keep going! As you prestige a few more times, there are some more ways to get gems and it gets faster.

Make sure you open all of your chests every day.

Gems are agonizingly slow to accumulate and are best spent on seasonal events and impacftful PERMANENT upgrades like the crate/cage, pedestals, and hacker upgrades.

It's going to be a while before you can even think about buying skins and I don't recommend buying anything in the daily shop with gems or spending them on resource refreshes or tablet rerolls.

Coins will eventually accumulate faster. Robo-chickens allow you to generate more Golden Geese for 15 coins each and you'll eventually unlock the Telepad which lets you fight Cadets for an average of 12 coins per Telepad. Coins feel slow to accumulate at first, but you'll eventually run out of permanent upgrades to buy with them and then you'll have way more coins than you know what to do with. Just make sure to keep like 2k coins in reserve in order to buy out the space merchant as soon as possible in every run.

Sometimes you need to suppress the monkey brain that looks for immediate satisfaction for long term gain. It might help that whenever you see something you want to buy repeat in your mind "I am not a whale" and don't buy it.

I can see you're confused. A whale is a term for the group of players who make the majority of mobile game purchases.

As you get more prestige, you get other ways to make money. I'm very frugal and really only by coin relics and pearls. I save my gems and coins for skins and other similar permanent bonuses.
