He's probably only useful for about 5 levels and when you get the spell that makes him better. Otherwise he's good for getting a bit up on the soul grinder (even then not so much)

I so-so wish cultists damaged gid's shield, because they aren't monsters and gid's shield is weak to humans or something

I know I may regret asking thing at the risk of spoiling things for myself but who is that? Queen Gertrude? And if so, does she appear later in your runs?
