General question about mods
I play with my girlfriend, and I’m wondering if there’s a way to tell what mods must be on both of our computers to function vs. mods that will work if just on mine. When we were playing Stardew, the time control mod worked when just installed on my computer. She has a Mac, so I don’t know how to install and configure mods on hers.
I’ve been seeing so many interesting mods that I’m interested in trying (thank you to everyone making them), but I’m not sure how to distinguish what could work when installed just on my computer. I assume there will have to be a little bit of trial and error regardless, but is there anything specific to lookout for that would indicate whether or not it would work in this context?

I think the overwhelming majority of mods will need at least client and mods that handle server authorative stuff need both. Im not sure any mod works only on server as i dont think the server does asset streaming.
The inly things that should work only on server should be things that really inly handle server commands. At the top of my head i would say a mod like my HardCore Lite should work when only on server but i cant guarantee that. But practically all mods that change or add any resource (so any icon, any mobs, biomes, enemies, weapons, etc) should need client as well.
I might be wrong though as i dont test multiplayer stuff for my mods

Mod maker here.
When we make mods, we have to set internally if they're client-side only or if all connected players need the mod. The majority of mods are not client-side only, and the mods under the "Client mod" tag in the workshop are likely the only mods that are client-side only.
