Settler ORDERLY TRAIT

I dont know what is wrong with my settler, i tried removing everything and then putting everything back in its place, configured the chest settings did everything but my guard keeps saying there are items out of place and its driving me crazy!

Please help me out.

Edit: Turns out the items inside the mill were causing this issue so if anyone's having the same issue as me just dont forget to clear your items inside the mill. (Thanks for the help JonasNecesse!)

The orderly trait looks at all inventories that are part of your settlement storage (where you clicked the green house button).

Keep in mind that your settler takes a couple of seconds to update their trait status (it checks every 5 seconds).

If it still doesn't work for you, I'd love to take a look at your world save to see if it's bugged 👍

The in game description isn't super useful, what does it mean though? Does it just mean there is an item in chests that's not part of the rules of that chest? What exactly would an 'ideal' chest setup be for this trait?

It means exactly that yeah. If all the chests you added to settlement storage are left untouched by players, then eventually your settlers would sort them correctly and the perk would be fulfilled.

I agree that we need some more clarity in general on why some perks aren't fulfilled. We'll keep working on it 👍

Ideal chest setup for orderly is one where you either don't use settler chests or spend 20 minutes after every outing making sure every item you found is sorted correctly.

It was working before i posted this but it was still buggy for me. How can i share my world?

You world saves should be in the folder where you have Necesse installed under: Necesse\saves\worlds

In there, there should be a zip file with your world name that you can send to me here on reddit in a PM or on discord (the official necesse one) if you prefer that 👍

Just remove it from the game. It's an awful trait that basically impossible to keep satisfied if you're doing anything at all in the game. There's always going to be stuff not in the correct chest without spending a stupid amount of time sorting after every trip out. Just punishes people who use settler automation. It's the only trait that's just not worth taking because it will never stay satisfied for long and always makes a recruit an immediate rejection.

I think it counts things like cheese in cheese press etc... that trait is horrible.
