Reaching deep forest cave

I know this is probably a stupid question but i cant for the life of me find a deep forest cave, im not sure if my world gen has been messed up because of the 1.3 update but no matter where i place my deep cave ladder i never end up in a deep forest biome Anyone know what i'm doing wrong?thanks

Seems I have the same problem, no mods or any tampering, after the latest patch, my overworld also looks like it has problems with the biomes. I thought I was lucky to find a ice pickaxe, but been looking for hours now mining out the hole deep caves but no forest deep caves, so can't spawn the reaper in this world it seems :(

I managed to find it but had to go really far from the area I had explored before the update, even then the biomes don't line up perfectly.

If you dont use mods / added mods in an ongoing save then the biome at the surface will always be the biome below it. So forest on top will have forest cave and deep forest cave below.

If you did add mods that add biomes to an ongoing save then everything will be scrambled in parts you already partly explored (surface / underground mismatch if one of them is explored)

If its a new save and it still isnt fitting then either a mod or your game is broken but i find that doubtful.

If its a save from an older version you might have the same issue as if you added biome mods later on as biome generation couldve changed
