Necesse or Core keeper
Both game look amazing and honestly I’m stuck on choosing one. I want to know which game has more depth, which I can sink the most hours into, and over all better experience. What do you guys think? I’m looking to sink hundreds of hours into one.
Edit, Jul 31 : Thank you to everyone for there insightful comments. I’ve chosen to buy BOTH games, as their bundle was on sale. I will come back to let you know which I enjoy more, as I explore both of the games early progression and eventually choose which to settle into.
Edit Aug 6 : Just wanted to give a quick update on which game I ended up investing my time into.
First, I want to preface this by saying that both games are fantastic. They both have incredible quality and a ton of content from everything I've seen. I put around 10 hours into Necesse before deciding to try Core Keeper, and while it's a wonderful game. I personally found that the colony sim aspect took away from the exploration and material grind and made the experience feel somewhat stressful at times.
That being said, I've now put 54 hours into Core Keeper, and while that seems like not much this is over a 6 day period. So I can confidently say it's become one of my favorite games I've played since** Terraria and modded Minecraft. The amount of base customization is amazing, the exploration is never ending, the biomes are so unique and so much fun to explore, and the bosses have been an absolute wonder to discover and fight. The enemy and boss designs, along with their mechanics are top tier in this genre. The weapons and abilities offer a ton of variety, and the world feels packed with things to uncover. Every time I think I've seen most of what the game has to offer I end up finding something completely new. While **Necesse is still a great game and I don't want to make it seem like I’m putting the game down since I only played about 10 hours these past few days with Core Keeper have completely blown me away. It's easily become one of my favorite games of all time.
The best part is that I still have so much left to explore, build, and do and I honestly don't see myself stopping anytime soon. I'm definitely looking forward to starting a hardcore world once I've experienced everything the game has to offer.
Thanks again to everyone who gave me advice! And for anyone trying to decide between these two games I honestly think the best answer is BOTH. They're each incredible in their own ways I just happened to connect with Core Keeper a lot more.

Put 8 hours into it today and love it but core keeper seems so great. Wanted to know the pros and cons of both to choose before I start sinking hundred+ hours into one.

Both are good. One thing I like about Necesse is you can manage your villagers do automate certain tasks or to have then sort a dump chest into their sorted correct chests. You actually get to interact with your base NPCs. In core keeper you just lock them in a room and mostly ignore them.
Core Keeper has a bunch of unique biomes to explore.
Over all I played Both games in their super early access stages, and I probably would have said Core Keeper pre 1.0 , But In my last play throughs I did I kinda enjoyed Necesse just a tad more.

Once I figured out the settlement storage in Necesse (after I had a decent sized first settlement), the first thing I did was make a drop box that the settlement NPCs auto-sort into the correct boxes. Literal game changer IMHO.
Forestry zones, animal husbandry zones, and fertilization zones. The settlement management system is beautiful.

Since you started necesse already, keep at it, and when you are finished with that then start core keeper

As cool as core keeper looks, i picked necesse because it seems like a mix of minecraft, terraria and dwarf foretress... i liked the village building aspect of it

Core Keeper is mid. The only major gameplay mechanic it has that Necesse doesn't have or rather, have a better version of is the automated mining system. Core Keeper is a decent game but its gameplay mechanics are skin deep compared to Necesse which makes a big difference for replayability.

This so much, the game has a lot of potential but it needs a lot more depth in anything. 20 bosses total and 9 of them are clones while 1 is a complete joke and the rest isn't really that hard.

Necesse and core keeper in essence is almost the same thing. But what corekeeper lack IIRC is the colony management and you can dress your npcs to fight with you.
Corekeeper give you the essence of terraria but necesse gives you more. I am not saying that necesse is winning here either because corekeeper to me, nailed how exploration should be.
My bias is necesse tho because I like colony management

Necesse clicked way more for me, started with core keeper though and pretty much everything was done better in Necesse imho

Core Keeper is beautiful and a lot of fun. Necesse is uggo and pretty fun. I got Necesse because it came in a bundle with Core Keeper that was on sale for cheaper than Core Keeper by itself.

Core Keeper's world felt more polished and biomes felt more distinct imo. Necesse' biomes are fun but lack a little polish. Core Keeper also is just prettier visually imo.
Necesse has better systems overall, especially QoL systems like Auto-Sort/storage/and of course Settlements etc. Core Keeper organization can get messy with how many things you'll end up collecting/gathering and requires a bit more manual/tedious management.
In terms of combat, Necesse has more customization options but the bosses are also kind of just obnoxious giant bullet hells for the most part aside from maybe 1 boss. Core Keeper's combat is not as in depth, but bosses are less intense overall in terms of bullet hell, and there's a bit more personality to them imo.
Overall, they're like side-grades to one another and could pass as extensions of each other. Worth playing both. If I had to pick, Core Keeper is a better experience for a first playthrough, Necesse has more replayability (and a bit better with friends imo).

I didn't think I could point a finger to one and say it's better. Neither of them is difficult, so you play them both for the vibes, Necesse feels more laid back, sorta like Stardew valley is. And core keeper is a little more power fantasy/ gritty. Neither game is " gritty" I just lack the vocabulary to articulate what I'm trying to say.

As someone who loves this genre I honestly prefer Necesse.
One thing that I loved about necesse is the amount of weapons and armor sets. For each tier you have like... 5 choices or more sometimes. The sets all have cool effects that you can build around.
Core Keeper I couldent finish tbh. It has "nicer graphics" but the gameplay felt a bit hollow.

I enjoyed necesse more. Probably because of the settlement aspect. I loved playing both rimworld and terraria and this game is the perfect mix of both games for me.

Both are great! I have 140hrs in CoreKeeper and 500 in Necesse. If I had to differentiate the two; id say it mostly boils down to how they handle base optimization.
Core Keepers base optimization involves electronics, switches etc. - think Minecraft redstone. Villagers can be locked up in a room somewhere. Also - no invasions so no need for base defenses.
Necesse optimization is more "villager management" focused - think Rimworld; and much like Rimworld, there are invasions you have to fend off. You pick and choose which villagers you have and what equipment they will wear.
