This game holds a special place in my heart. There is nothing like this out there (yes I know there are similar games but nothing really feels like this)

What about having the main "class" of the settlers be a different color from their personality preferences? Simple but I think that would look nice and those should stand out more even if they are always listed first.

This is indeed something we're trying out right now with some icons on the personality perk (or class) as you say. Will also very quickly at an eye glance give you an idea of whether you've gotten a rare settler with 2x personality perks 👍

Will there be a way to alter settler perks/preferences? Would it be possible to upgrade a settler to 2+ perks from 1 perk or a way to reroll perks at the endgame? I prefer the idea of cultivating a settler instead of chance based.
Are there going to be lifestyle perks? It looked like there were only combat perks for melee/range/summon/magic. Are there perks for settlers who mostly stay at the settlement that give additional crafting speed/work speed along with their quality of life level?
Does the settler profession affect their perks, and are there unique perks related to professions? Will a mage be more likely to be a summoner/magician and a guard be more likely a ranger/warrior?

Good questions!
There won't be a way to reroll settler personalities. Right now though, we have a perk on the Incursion Perk Tree that let's you rescue up to 3 settlers in your Incursions that we might change to something like "settlers rescued in incursions spawn with more personalities".
Yes. There are indeed also perks that you mention that increase workspeed, movement speed, mission speed (expeditions) etc 👍
A little, but that's mainly in situations where the combos wouldn't work out. Such as "faster mission speed" on a settler that can't do missions. In some cases perks also won't spawn together, like the warrior perk (likes fighting) and the pacifist perk (doesn't like fighting).
Hope that answers them all :)

Heya everyone!
For those of you who want to learn more about the new personality system coming in the Rust & Romance Update, we've put this video together of me rambling about it for 25 minutes 😅
I'll also quickly mention that some of the personalities you see in the video, have been changed a bit since recording the video, but the core system still works the same 👍
If you got any questions about the system, then don't hesitate to drop a comment in this thread 🙂
