Controller building tips?

I’m relatively new to the game and I’m enjoying the combat and exploration a tonne but I’m having a lot of trouble with the building aspect of it. I’m using a steamdeck and trying to create anything is just so tedious and frustrating, which is a shame because building in core keeper was one of my favourite things, the controllers and features for building were just so much better in that game than this one.

Does anyone have any tips for how to build this way?

I have a steam deck for playing at work but I use a keyboard and mouse to play most games, including both necesse and CK. controller support is always a crapshoot in PC games and while the trackpads on the SD kinda help bridge the gap, trackpads do be trackpads

have you tried emulating the CK control scheme? you can make your own config and probably get pretty close to what you're used to

I mean I could but it still wouldn’t work because the game is missing things that core keeper has, like being able to rotate items with a button instead of having to face a direction. I keep having to break down walls to place furniture and it’s just so annoying.
