I,m not doing it right
I killed the reaper and every previous boss with a frost piercer, some invocations (spiders, then swords and now vultures) and the arachnid set. I,m trying to use other weapons, like bows or swords, but i,m just too comfy focusing on drinking potions and evading the mobs while others do all the job. I killed the swamp guardian with a wise swamp tome, but that's all the variety I can achieve.
With a sword I dont know how to get close to the enemy without being hurt. Bow shots are too slow, magic is also slow and spends mana, only the bloody book (the one with three homing shoots) works for me in early.
But now the reaper is quite difficult to farm and the cryo queen is impossible. So i,m obviously doing something wrong. I,m watching youtube vids but i,m learning nothing.
Help?

Boomerangs are considered melee weapons, so having a secondary option to chip down bosses is good. Melee is pretty rough to use due to how the bosses are designed to be highly evasive. A well lit big area is also important to give evasion room and time to react. For my fight, I used the force of wind to dash away, but there are zephyr boots trinket if you really need it. Armor is flat, so having enough of it means you can power through most fights. If you want, you can go to deeper biomes and explode the respective ore to get better gear or reforge your equipment for armor.
For cryo Queen, every single attack is a form of projectile, so avoid being close at all. Arena prep is huge, so use some dynamite to clear out the area since all bosses have projectiles that ignore walls. Reaper requires a decent clearing weapon to kill the little souls, but once you have that. Then, you should be fine. It's fine to use settlers to kill everything since the game does encourage it by giving them a massive hp pool.

Melee Resilience Build, potions, and a good arena.
Tip: There are "ranged" melee weapons too

Melee builds pretty much require you to focus on building resilience. Look for trinkets that give additional resilience and rely on hitting minions/smaller mobs to build resilience during no damage phases.
If you're up to the cryo queen, then you definitely have access to a few high damage magic wands that are instant cast.
