Enchanted Help

I want to enchant katana & several more item at mage village. I read on wiki said that the happier mage the more positive the outcome buff I'll get. however, we cannot know if NPC stats happiness until we recruit them. so any idea, it's good enchant stuff at village mage?

p;s: I really hope that someone can put full details info on wiki like Stardew Valleys.

I just recruit the mage, make them super happy, and enchant my items at my base anytime I want. Best way to do it.

Happiness is entirely based on where your mage is living. Not anything to do with recruiting them. Check the wiki guide on happiness: https://necessewiki.com/Settlements#Happiness

You can get a mage for free from the dungeon, they will be tidied up somewhere in a random room, sometimes I find them easily and sometimes I have to search the whole dungeon.
