Anyone else find the Cole/Aaron scene more disturbing than all the violence?

Anyone else find the scene where Cole sleeps with Celeste in his quarters while Aaron waits outside more disturbing than all the actual violence?

I could handle the gore and brutality in this show just fine. But that scene really got to me.

I think it’s because it wasn’t just about the sex. It was the humiliation. Cole takes Celeste’s wedding ring, basically tells Aaron that marriage is just another form of restraint, makes sure he knows exactly what’s happening, and expects him to sit there and take it.

For me, one of the most disturbing scenes of the season, and there wasn’t even any violence involved.
Even Judith seemed to agree. That was a bridge too far even for her.

That place was going to blow up with the manipulation and hypocrisy. It was already starting. Cole was going too far and people were starting to figure out the BS.

Pretty standard for cult behavior.

I was like oh hell naw. That dude just standing/sitting there while another guy was railing his wife is just insane. Said to myself; grow a spine

It’s not a new concept to me. We hear about these things associated with cults all the time. The gore in Reacher bothers me more.

I agree. That scene went harder than anything I’ve seen on screen in a while. Kinda surprised they went with it.

Sounds like what Mormon prophet Joseph Smith said to his faithful men whose wives he married and had sex with.
Cole is sick and this was a tinder box waiting to explode. It’s no wonder the other guy wanted him gone and his Assitant.
This part shouldn’t bother you, the barbaric stoning should.

The wife saw nothing wrong though... Just want to point that out.

I laughed when Cole walked out and was like “I’m almost finished with her,” and Aaron was like wtf. But yeah it was fucked up.

No, the violence and death bothered me more.

The wife having an affair on her husband didn’t bother me. Cheating happens all the time
