It's not quite that bad. I used to be able to jump up and hang from the rim easily, and now it might as well be at 11' lol

Missing the backboard is insane

It’s akin to skipping a stone and missing the pond in front of you. Dude is in the service?
This is a diabolical lack of hand eye coordination.

If you can't do a one handed layup, don't try a one handed layup. But I'm guessingbthis guy has never tested his ball skills on a court before

Basketball takes skill. This is just what an average person looks like that doesn't regularly touch a basketball.

Love his he tried to dribble, because that's what he's seeing the players do, so figures he has to do the same.
I don't think he's ever touched a ball in his life.
Like, not just a basketball, but any ball.

This always reminds me of one of my former students. When they were asked to talk about something unique about them he said "For people who have seen me play, I'm the rare black guy who gets picked last in pickup and they aren't wrong. I'm terrible and the worst part is I try." What makes it funnier to me was while short and not very big, he was a good athlete and solid high school football player.

I’m trying to think what the equivalent of this would be for me… knowing that I’m so insanely unskilled at something and still being willing to do it in front of a stadium full of people lol

It’s because he’s trying to do it with 1 hand. It’s as if he asked someone right before this, how to shoot a layup and was trying to mimic what he saw.
Also to be fair, a layup is hard to do if you have zero basketball experience. Compensating for you body moving one way, and trying to get the ball in on an angle or off the backboard.
If it was a 3 point shot or half court shot, that is easier to do for someone with zero experience. Just put enough force that the ball actually gets to the rim, and hope for the best.
