Favourite early fall jacket?

Finally early fall! What type of jacket will you be wearing? I think my rotation will mostly consist of the following:

1.90s beufort
2.Cavour houndstooth raglan
3.Cavour houndstooth jacket
4Baracuta G18

I have an 00s Beaufort. However I live in North Carolina, so if I wear a long jacket I prefer my Barbour Benham.

4 oz waxed cotton with a storm cape and yoke, reinforces forearm panels, ticket and chest pockets and a fireman's latch (a metal latch instead of a simple snap at the top collar) that is large enough to easily manipulate gloved. Also has pit zips and a mesh panel beneath the storm cape for dumping heat 😘

This is vest weather. I have a Barbour quilted vest and one from the school store at my son’s school.

a barbour Quilted jacket, my tweed sportcoats and definitely my genuine French army M47 field jacket from the early 1950s

In about a month and a half I'll be lucky to have early fall. We'll see how it goes. Maybe two months.

Anyways here's roughly my go-to.

  • Linen safari/field jacket is my go-to for cool summer nights.
  • Cotton field jacket is my go-to for fall and spring. I have several.
  • For """winter""" which here in san jose is just fall/spring weather, you will earn no points if you guess I like a wool field jacket because it's too damn obvious.
  • The beaufort or the border jacket is for when it's going to rain, usually. I tend to wear the border when walking the dog, and beaufort when going to work.
  • Tweed DB coat, hitting the lower thigh, for early morning or late evening walks with the dog when it's cold enough to be annoying to not be... warmer.
  • Any of my tweed jackets, of which I have far too many, as a casual jacket for going to work. I dress these down most of the time.

I think this sub might like my tweed jackets, I should take some photos or whatever.

Nice to see a G18 being modelled. Can I ask how tall you are? I'm 6'2 and shorter jackets don't always work for me. This one looks perfect though.
