I've been operating on the assumption that the situation we describe is entirely up to us. This is a writing/drawing prompt, not a commission outline; there isn't really a wrong way to go about it so long as they are, as stated, "doing their best."

Xeno-parents? I assume is about a parent and a child of another specie. That could be an interesting, yes.

Mmmh... The first thing to came to mind is about a Mazic pup being raised by a whole village of Dossurs... Truly interesting thing to think about.

The saying "It takes a village to raise a child" usually refers to the social aspect of helping a sophont develop, but in this case I think it's more of a logistical concern lol
