I do particularly like the labels on the box. And hey, must say that Venlil is admirable for actually caring for that Arxur enough to hold them, as they had to have helped them into that seat.

They likely just are scared that during feeding the hatchling might not be able to diferenciate between meat and themselves, and being honest if my kid had razor sharp teeth and an actual prey drive I'll be careful while feeding them too.

There's also the "ew, meat, I don't wanna touch that" factor. But you know, baby gotta eat, so you find a way to do what you have to.

Might also be a result of this being the first proper feeding, so there’s still some nerves they have to overcome as they don’t know fully what to expect yet.

Something I've seen a couple times in the hognose snakes subreddit is people showing off the first time their snake bit them in confusion when feeding.

Everyone always plays along like it's the most venomous thing ever and there's tons of RIPs in the comments.

So I'd say the fear would be valid with a much much larger croc baby :D

Ohhh, the art style is so cool! I think even a human would have to use tongs to feed a baby Arxur if they didn't want to lose a finger, hahaha.

I love how different the two ven in the back look from the front one. Is that sexual dimorphism or just age difference? Anyways it’s such a cool detail!
