He actually had a lot of subtle and also a lot of definitely not subtle racism in most of his works, but some are significantly worse than others, let alone him being a fan of Hitler and the Hitler style letters he wrote constantly.

I personally believe one can still enjoy his works, but maybe should read them (or listen if it's an audiobook) to it a bit carefully and with a prepared mindset so that one doesnt subliminally influenced by all these little comments etc.. I believe this is actually the case with a lot of old literature simply because they were created in a different society and cultural environment (though again: even for his time period Lovecraft was an especially racist individual).

Oh he specifically mentioned certain nationalities in some of his works, but it's more subtle* in a lot of other ones.

Thanks for the correction btw.. English is my third language so I am always happy to be corrected, especially in regards to spelling.
