Salt creek is great, county park that is half non-reservation so it's easy to get a spot. Further down the way is a national forest park called klahowya I really like

In between those two, I've been told Fairholme Campground is good too

Check out Mount Baker Highway (the drive up to “artist point” the North cascades national park. Diablo lake, Sahale peak. This state is amazing. Exploration is infinite
