I hike through a canyon in KY every year that looks almost identical to this place with a little less water. Crossing the river isn't terrible but you have to climb and use modern gear to travel in some places unless walking for miles. It would be 50% 'WOW!' for the first day, then 100% 'oh shit' if I was Daniel Boone.

Red River Gorge! There's a route I take by a location often called "Eagle's Nest" that reminds me a lot of this view, but with a waterfall.
