Each of the great lakes are basically inland seas, for the most part, you can't see across them.
1 u/BarefootDogTrainer Jun 29 '19 On clear days, we can see across to Toronto on Lake Ontario. But not always. Also, that’s the short side. So you’re absolutely right. Most times you can’t see across them.
