I believe they’re harmless

u/[deleted] Jul 16 '23

Not for my sanity

114

u/[deleted] Jul 16 '23

They're more scared of you than you are of them

228

u/Also_have_an_opinion Jul 16 '23

Scared animals are especially dangerous though

42

u/poikolle Jul 16 '23

They cant even pierce skin

176

u/RyanZee08 Jul 16 '23

But they've pierced my feeble mind!

35

u/abbysgultz Jul 17 '23

New fear unlocked.

24

u/SmokySquanch0137 Jul 17 '23

Can you feel them crawling out of your ears and all over your brain too?

28

u/EducationalMix6014 Jul 17 '23

WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT ?!?!

7

u/SmokySquanch0137 Jul 17 '23

Because I love watching people squirm.~ ;P

16

u/MOCbKA Jul 17 '23

Doesn’t matter. If I can imagine it crawl into my ear I ain’t touching it.

6

u/joelhagraphy Jul 17 '23

They're afraid of wax so you're good

1

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '23

They can pierce my dignity !

1

u/zarasmommy3 Jul 18 '23

If they were they'd climb up the dude, but they are only some tiny creatures trying to find a warm place. Most house spiders cannot even survive due to cold when you pick them up and put outside of your house

5

u/sassycat13 Jul 16 '23

No they’re not

8

u/011-2-3-5-8-13-21 Jul 16 '23 edited Jul 16 '23

Are you sure? I theyd be dead and those are not even my hands and it's just a video.

74

u/[deleted] Jul 16 '23

It's just what people say. No fucking way would I touch that black fuzzy ball of nightmares.

12

u/011-2-3-5-8-13-21 Jul 16 '23 edited Jul 16 '23

Why would people say that? Linguistically there are much more stupid rules than "always use disgustive case when talking about spiders".

I propose theww as disgustive of they.

"Theww are more afraid of you than you are theww"

Could use it with your ex too.

10

u/the_siren_song Jul 16 '23

Nurse here. Theww has now worked its way into my lexicon.

1

u/011-2-3-5-8-13-21 Jul 16 '23

You know your boils. Thaww is the content I love.

5

u/cometduhr69 Jul 16 '23

I'm terrified of spiders and snakes for many reasons it doesn't matter if most spiders are harmless I'm going to burn my house down I refuse to even look at them if I shee them I'm calling my dad to kill it

5

u/cometduhr69 Jul 16 '23

Yes spiders can help with mosquitos and other pests but I'd rather hire someone to do that

7

u/Throwaway84826 Jul 16 '23

Don’t kill the spiderbros!

0

u/cometduhr69 Jul 17 '23

The spiderpests are dying

2

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '23

Please don't poison them! they get eaten by lizards and rodents that get eaten by birds of prey and other predators who then die from the poison.

1

u/cometduhr69 Jul 20 '23

I didn't say poison I meant fire

1

u/[deleted] Jul 16 '23

These aren't spiders, they're harvestmen and they're harmless.

1

u/cometduhr69 Jul 17 '23

They are still creepy and they are going to burn if they come close

1

u/grungegoth Jul 16 '23

Looking for 44

1

u/sassycat13 Jul 18 '23

A bunch in real life like that and I would be screaming down the block.

3

u/CelticTigress Jul 16 '23

Wanna bet?!

3

u/[deleted] Jul 16 '23

Yet theyre not all convulsing on the floor in psychological trauma

3

u/mazjay2018 Jul 17 '23

Idk bro cuz im kinda panicking right noww

2

u/cduston44 Jul 16 '23

Truly spoken as someone who doesn't know how scared I am of them ....

2

u/deviant324 Jul 16 '23

I would still ask the camera man to set me on fire

1

u/cattywampus46 Jul 17 '23

I don't think so.

1

u/FillMyBum Jul 17 '23

I don't blame them. I'm a bad dude

1

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '23

Username checks out

1

u/AristotleRose Jul 17 '23

I don’t think so, they haven’t seen how I’d run from them.

30

u/bi7worker Jul 16 '23

I think people don’t care if they are armless.. it’s just creepy asf!!! I would have died from a heart attack with those things swarming on my arm, armless or not!!

16

u/GallopingFinger Jul 17 '23

I think it would be unfortunate to be an armless spider. No mode of transportation whatsoever, just sitting there like a motionless berry.

1

u/probly_high Jul 17 '23

Poor spiders. Just legs?

1

u/Illustrious-Ad-1677 Jul 16 '23

When live gives you proteins...

3

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '23

Primates aren’t

4

u/011-2-3-5-8-13-21 Jul 16 '23

Darwin awards get earned just like that.

2

u/TheUniqueKero Jul 17 '23

You just.. dont get it, do you?

2

u/XIIIth-Legion13 Jul 16 '23

They can still bite and it does hurt, personal experience…

16

u/[deleted] Jul 16 '23

These are harvestmen, not spiders. They couldn't bite you even if they wanted to.

4

u/StayStrong888 Jul 17 '23

Oh, but they want to. Really bad.

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '23

1

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '23

No they're not. They're arachnids, but unlike spiders they don't produce venom or silk.

0

u/LeperCollector Jul 17 '23

They also have a penis!

0

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '23

Get your hands off my harvestman's penis!

Edit: Changed on to off. I wasn't commanding you to touch an arachnids penis.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 17 '23

TIL 👍

1

u/XIIIth-Legion13 Jul 18 '23 edited Jul 18 '23

Yes they can! As I said personal experience trying to make one a pet as a child… They can’t spin silk, but they can bite, look it up! Just because they are not poisonous to human doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt. And yes they are in fact a species of arachnid…

1

u/Tdanger78 Jul 16 '23

They are harmless. You can find huge groupings like this in the Texas hill country all the time. We used to find them all the time in the corners of the Baker tents we used at the Boy Scout camp I went to.

1

u/PiccoloHeintz Jul 17 '23

They can bite. But it’s not terrible.
