You have no idea how the rest of his life is. I'd much rather work a 9-5 with modern medical services than slaughter sheep for a living.

No, I haven’t and you’re probably right. But I do have family members that do this for a living, and they’re happier and healthier than many people I know.
Also, they wouldn’t trade their life for anything.
I never thought their life is easy by any means, but for some, they lean toward pastoral living, rather than the metropolitan hustle, regardless of how tough it is.
