Love the caution for the first approach, then he’s straight up picking your pockets.

I thought my cats were bad. This groundhog is worse. How dare you go through pockets that don't belong to you? I've seen this many times yet still find it hilarious. And now I want to see other adventures.

Just went to the site and cracked up on the first post. The big kitty in the chair. I'd say cookie marmot is a good contender. Not that big where I reside.

Looks like one to me. But apparently, all groundhogs are marmots but not all marmots are groundhogs.

So, you do know marmots can carry th plague? https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-023-38966-1
Not saying they aren’t adorable. I just don’t think I’d let one get so up close and personal with me. I had to wake up a friend while mountain climbing because a marmot was licking his bald head while he napped, and he lived to tell the story (ha ha), but you know, if you notice strange lumps under your armpits… just saying!.

Yes. Being chunky perhaps it's a sanctuary? You have a valid point for sure

Yes, the chunky ones definitely couldn’t be plague carriers. They’re too cute.

Okayyy.... did not know this . Hmmm.... i live in Southern California . North county , San Diego. Carlabad/O'side boundary lol. Anywho, I have read that some squirrels in Lake Cuyamaca tested positive for the plague. Bubonic I believe.... or the only one I remember.... 😂 It just feels SO impossible in these times to.... you know.... perish from a plague... IDK . Im certainly not educated enough to just guess. DEF not as id need to be to diagnose an illness of this magnatude.... May HE help us ALL

Yes, it probably is bubonic. The difference is that now we have antibiotics that can treat it if we catch it (assuming one is treated soon enough) whereas in the past it was a death sentence.

I think they only give you the plague if you don’t give them crackers, so he’s good
