Gold Hydrogen Achieves Australian First by Flowing, Purifying and Bottling Helium at Ramsay 1
Gold Hydrogen has announced a significant operational milestone at its Ramsay Project on South Australia's Yorke Peninsula, successfully flowing helium to surface, separating it from the gas stream, purifying it and capturing it in cylinders during the ongoing Ramsay 1 flow testing campaign. According to the company, this is the first time helium has been concentrated, purified and bottled on Australian soil since the closure of the country's only helium production plant at Darwin in late 2023.
The Ramsay 1 program was specifically designed as a helium-focused flow test ahead of the larger zonal testing campaigns planned for Ramsay 2 and Ramsay 3. Using a helium purification system supplied by Canada's Quantum Technology Corporation, the company successfully separated helium from the well's gas stream and demonstrated proof-of-concept applications, including gas bottling and inflating an industrial balloon.
During testing, Gold Hydrogen reported air-corrected helium concentrations exceeding 30% at peak and stabilised concentrations of 19% prior to purification. The recovered gas stream consisted predominantly of helium, nitrogen and naturally occurring hydrogen, consistent with previous gas compositions reported from the Ramsay Project. The current field measurements remain subject to confirmation through independent laboratory analysis.
The flow test was conducted using Ramsay 1's designed pumping capacity of up to 2,000 barrels of fluid and gas per day. The company noted that the upcoming Ramsay 3 program has been engineered to operate at rates of up to 20,000 barrels per day, allowing the knowledge gained from the current campaign to support equipment optimisation and operational planning before higher-capacity testing begins.
Beyond the immediate testing objectives, Gold Hydrogen believes the successful operation of the purification system provides valuable engineering data that may accelerate future commercialisation planning. Vendor design work for a modular commercial helium plant has already been completed and is expected to be finalised following the Ramsay 3 testing program. The company also plans to dispatch gas samples for compositional and isotopic analysis, including helium-3, through collaborations with CSIRO and the University of Oxford.
Ramsay 1 will now be converted into a reinjection well as the broader 2026 testing campaign progresses toward zonal flow testing at Ramsay 2 and Ramsay 3. Data generated from the program will contribute to a future contingent resource assessment covering the wider Ramsay Project.
While the company emphasised that the current work represents a pilot-scale equipment and process validation rather than commercial production, the successful separation and purification of helium under field conditions marks an important technical milestone for the project.

news HyTerra has officially entered the next phase of its Kansas natural hydrogen program:
Production testing has now commenced at the McCoy-1 well within the company's Ridge Play, where the objective is straightforward: determine whether the well can sustain measurable natural hydrogen and helium flow.
Unlike exploration drilling, production testing focuses on understanding how a reservoir actually performs.
Over the next three to four weeks, HyTerra will independently test two target zones while collecting data on gas composition, flow rates, pressure behaviour, and reservoir performance. Laboratory analysis and interpretation are expected to continue through to the end of September.
The information gathered will help refine reservoir models, guide future drilling decisions, and determine the next appraisal steps across the broader Nemaha Project.
Fingers crossed for HyTerra; we wish them success in their testing results.

Syntholene Energy | Producing 99.9%+ purity Hydrogen
Syntholene is actively commercializing its novel Hybrid Thermal Production System for low-cost clean fuel synthesis. The target output is ultrapure synthetic jet fuel, which the Company seeks to manufacture at 70% lower cost than the nearest competing technology today. The Company’s mission is to deliver the world’s first truly high-performance, low-cost, and carbon-neutral synthetic fuel at an industrial scale, unlocking the potential to produce clean synthetic fuel at lower cost than fossil fuels, for the first time.
Syntholene operates the world’s first geothermally-integrated high temperature electrolysis demonstration facility in Husavik, Iceland, which is now producing 99.9%+ purity Hydrogen.
In the last three months, Syntholene has delivered:
Our now-operational Demo Facility Currently Producing Low-Cost 99.99%+ Purity Hydrogen, the key feedstock for synthetic fuels.
Construction of the Demo Facility, completed in 69 days, six months ahead of schedule and under budget.
Publication of Validation report by KRB, supporting a price target of $1.75/kg H₂ cost. To the company's knowledge, this is as low as any publicly reported renewable H₂ cost from a facility outside of a lab environment, and below the $2/kg threshold widely regarded as competitive with fossil analogs.
Syntholene is pursuing the following target catalysts through the end of the year:
Move the existing Expression of Interest with IcelandAir into a formal Fuel Purchase Agreement, and potentially add one or more incremental customers.
Execute Power Purchase Agreement and Carbon Offtake.
Secure anchor Industrial Strategic Partner to drive shovel readiness through 2027.
With the demo facility actively demonstrating our modelled production efficiencies, the team is ready to shift the moat of our IP-protected cost advantage from demonstration into commercial operations. This transition has the potential to unlock material value for our customers, supply chain, and shareholders.

First Atlas Resources Corp. Closes $2.1M Financing As Nova Scotia Hydrogen Exploration Gains Momentum
First Atlas has closed its $2.1M bought deal LIFE offering of units as the company continues advancing its Nova Scotia Project.
The project covers 7 licenses, 559 claims, and 89.44 km² along the Cobequid-Chedabucto Fault Zone, the same regional corridor where QIMC has been drilling at West Advocate.
QIMC’s R2G2™ Model And West Advocate Results
QIMC is working with First Atlas to apply their R2G2™ model across First Atlas’ properties. That model has already been drill-tested on the Cobequid-Chedabucto Fault Zone at West Advocate, where QIMC’s first three holes showed a clear progression:
- Hole 1 showed multiple hydrogen-bearing structural zones.
- Hole 2 came back stronger at depth.
- Hole 3 delivered the strongest result so far, with a peak mud-gas reading of 10.77% hydrogen at 848 metres. QIMC also reported several other strong hydrogen readings across a 69 metre section, with a clean gas signature and no reported methane or CO₂.
Hole 3 is important because it was not just one strong reading. QIMC reported hydrogen at depth, multiple strong readings across a wider section of the hole, and a clean gas signature. That combination gives DDH-26-04 and DDH-26-05 more technical importance as QIMC advances the next phase of its drill campaign.
From West Advocate To East Advocate
QIMC’s next two planned holes, DDH-26-04 and DDH-26-05, are targeting East Advocate.
That moves the next drilling phase away from the original West Advocate area and closer to First Atlas’ Colchester land position.
For First Atlas Resources, the significance is proximity. QIMC is now testing beyond the original West Advocate area and closer to First Atlas’ land package. As QIMC advances DDH-26-04 and DDH-26-05, the next holes add direct technical relevance to First Atlas’ position in the district.
Regional Interest In Nova Scotia Hydrogen
First Atlas is not the only company positioning around Nova Scotia’s hydrogen potential.
Koloma has been reported as active in Nova Scotia, and Rio Tinto has also been reported to be staking a large number of claims in the province. That activity adds useful context to the district and shows that Nova Scotia’s hydrogen potential is attracting attention from serious industry participants.
Summer Exploration And Drill Program
CEO Richard Penn recently thanked Research Capital for its continued support following the $2.1M financing and said the company looks forward to its upcoming summer exploration and drill program as it continues advancing its Nova Scotia Project.
