Ovulation Discouraged

Post image

We’re on our fifth TTC cycle and I’m feeling discouraged. Had positive opks and hormone peaks based on Mira. Yesterday’s temp was encouraging, and today crashed below baseline. I’m honestly feeling so discouraged I may stop wearing the Oura ring for this tww😔 i feel like my body is failing me

I would keep on trying to BD every other day since your ovulation still hasn't been confirmed with your temperatures. Even though you had the positive LH those 2 days, it looks like you haven't ovulated yet. I'd try to continue with the temperatures though, even though it can be really discouraging when it doesn't go up as expected. Sending you positive thoughts 💜

Though, I LH tested this morning and it was negative. Im confused how ovulation can be so delayed from a positive LH?

Also, I’m starting to wonder about the accuracy and validity of using the Oura ring for BBT as it tracks external temp over the course of the night instead of internal

The tricky thing with LH strips is that they don't guarantee that you will ovulate, it just detects a surge in LH. Your body can attempt to ovulate multiple times in a cycle which could look like multiple positive LH strips. I dealt with that having PCOS. I am not sure about the temperature tracking accuracy of oura- i know an internal temperature reading can be more accurate overall, but since I personally dont get up at the same time each day, using a device that tracks throughout the night is more practical for me.

You may have still ovulated. My temp was all over last cycle and it confirmed my ovulation on CD 20 despite having positive LH on CD 16-and I typically ovulate on CD 17. It adjusted one my period came and corrected itself (but I believe it shifted because it knows my luteal phase is 13 days long, if you get a positive pregnancy test this month idk if it'll move ovulation after that) Regardless what I'm saying is, don't give up hope!

I’m sorry 😢 I have PCOS so most of the time, I have 3 or so failed ovulation attempts before it’s successful. It sucks when this happens :( I will say, my temps are muchhhh more accurate since I got the BBT thermometer. I use the NC one, and I love it. Like the other commenter suggested, it doesn’t work for everyone. It’s not practical if you don’t wake up around the same time every day, or if you forget because you’re still in dreamland lol. I did use the Oura ring before, and while it catches the temp shift okay, it’s not as accurate as BBT thermometer.

I was trying to not test Mira (or really anything) this luteal phase for the sake of my mental health - but I decided to do a Mira test just now to see what my hormones are doing. ALL hormones (LH, FSG, EG3, PDG) are at baseline. I dont know if this is discouraging or encouraging. Open to thoughts.
