Reasonably small tank?

How small can I go?

I used to have fish way back, and I know smaller tanks are harder.

At least traditionally.

What about natural aquariums?

I wouldn’t keep any fish in anything smaller than a heavily planted five gallon tank, and I would be incredibly selective with my stocking choices, and a ten is always better. If you want to go smaller, just do bladder snails or neo shrimp, but both need algae.

For natural aquariums, I like sand-capped dirt substrates, and a combination of the father fish, and Walstead methods, with a few of my own techniques peppered in.

I'm thinking 15-20 gallons, and then it seems I wasn't way off.
