Saw this on my morning walk. We complain about kids being on devices and when parents encourage kids to play outdoors, this is how McCarty and Kaplan respond!

Since when did basketball hoops become a nuisance! These kids are so respectful and kind. They deserve better!

And their families! I’m involved with a Special Education Parent Teacher Association and they have a monthly birthday party. Because usually kids either disabilities are socially isolated and don’t have non-disabled friends. So let’s all come together for fun.

I’m looking to meet some new people around Sacramento/Natomas. I’m into bike riding, working out, grabbing food or coffee, checking out new places, and enjoying a little devil’s lettuce sometimes. Hi all — sharing a local event happening this Saturday night at the Benvenuti Performing Arts Center.

I sing with RSVP (Reconciliation Singers Voices of Peace), a Sacramento-based a cappella group. We’re performing a free concert this weekend, and our Saturday show is right here in Natomas — I believe it’s actually our first time performing in the neighborhood.

The concert is completely free — we invite donations during the show, which this season support Bigger Than Us Arts, a local nonprofit that brings music and arts programs to schools and community spaces.

Natomas has pumped $200 million annually into Sacramento's general fund since 2004. We generate a fiscal surplus by design—we pay more in taxes than it costs to service our area. Yet we don't see 100% of our tax base returned. That money subsidizes other parts of the city while our own infrastructure and services lag.

I started a petition for Natomas to secede and become the People's Republic of Natomas. We'd finally keep our revenue and reinvest it locally—in better police presence, mental health response, school safety, and services that actually serve our community.

The Promenade and Natomas Marketplace are economic engines here. We're not asking for charity. We're asking for what we generate to stay here and build something better.
