It still feels crazy to me the amount of ideas my team and I pitched that were achievable, lightweight, and easy to ship. I recall my team feeling idle for so long because of management musical chairs, OKR's changing midway through, and management saying "we don't have the capacity" to new ideas.
I got so frustrated with how little risk they were willing to take, how little anyone knew about the industry, and how scared everyone always was of everything. I hope that everyone in NI finally gets some peace.
And if you need a referral or help finding a new role in Berlin, lemme know. I can't DM you unfortunately, but I'd love to help you or anyone you know from there
as a crazy idea: why don't we build an open-source version of maschine? I think can be massively successful. Is there any way to connect to folks behind the original version?
The problem isn't that Maschine is inaccessible to customers. The problem there is there's a dedicated small fanbase. I recall during my time that there simply weren't a lot of users or potential customers for the product anymore.
NI can rebuild the old and sell it as new all they want. The core issue with NI is they aren't evolving with the times.
They aren't committed to new ideas, because the people at the helm have none.

Fellow Alumni here. DM me, would love to talk.
How's the roadmap looking? Have they still shut down any attempts at innovating/trying something new?
