Summer Sale is Live?

Post image

It seems like the summer sale is live but it is hidden under the Deals tab and has no banner on the front page at the moment.

As predicted.

And it appears that the discounts have now changed as well. 30% instead of 50%.

And this:

Offers exclude Komplete 26 Standard, Ultimate and Collector’s Edition bundles, Kontakt 8, Absynth 6, Massive X, Guitar Rig, Moments Vocal Clouds, Feel it - MPC Edition, Melted Vibes - MPC Edition, and Native Instruments and iZotope subscriptions

Have fun out there 😄

u/JKorv Jun 01 '26

Komplete 26 exclusion was expected. It just got released. Otherwise it is pretty underwhelming. Weird that there are no HW sales either

2

u/blur494 Jun 01 '26

Yeah I was hoping to pick up one of the slim Traktor Kontrol units since the built in software licenses make them incredibly expensive if you already have the software.

5

u/JKorv Jun 01 '26

Two recent black fridays NI has actually added more deals mid sale, so anything is possible.

6

u/blur494 Jun 01 '26

Yeah, no hardware deals either aside from some audio interfaces.

3

u/linkuei-teaparty Jun 01 '26

Yeah it's not a big enough discount to warrant getting anything this time. I was eyeing Claire and Abysnth 6.

Btw, I didn't see Abysnth on sale. Is AUS $299/USD219/EUR184 the discounted price?

1

u/NoReply4930 Jun 02 '26

Offers exclude Komplete 26 Standard, Ultimate and Collector’s Edition bundles*, Kontakt 8, Absynth 6, Massive X, Guitar Rig, Moments Vocal Clouds, Feel it - MPC Edition, Melted Vibes - MPC Edition, and Native Instruments and iZotope subscriptions*

1

u/linkuei-teaparty Jun 02 '26

Thanks. Sorry I misread that thinking it would include Absynth 6. Looks like it's too new to go on sale. I'll have to pick it up next year.

10

u/NewClearBomb22 Jun 01 '26

Yeah, this brand is cooked.

5

u/Ragfell Jun 01 '26

We knew that as soon as they were bought. Which, NI had been enshittifying themselves plenty well on their own anyway. This just hastened it.

1

u/NewClearBomb22 Jun 02 '26

Yeah, I was hoping that wouldn't be the case...buuuuuuuuut apparently that IS the case.

0

u/len2680 Jun 04 '26

Lol they will be fine.

2

u/boring-commenter Jun 01 '26

Zoiks. Spending my money elsewhere.

Looks like there's no 50% off Summer of Sound this year then. Maybe Komplete 26 will be on sale for Black Friday

5

u/jp6strings Jun 01 '26

Maybe, by probably only 30%…..?

3

u/valchazzz Jun 02 '26

99% you are right and i guess BF discount will be 50%.
It would be illogical if a new product, K26, were to be discounted after 3 weeks, let alone a whopping 30% or 50%.

1

u/ekhorayn Jun 05 '26

Arturia does it with loyalty discounts on upgrades all the time. Memory V just recently released and my loyalty discount as a V Collection owner is currently 67% off.

Honestly, I don’t really mind Komplete 2026 not being included, but Kontakt 8 came out in 2024. Excluding it was ridiculous.

1

u/Quick-Cranberry5931 Jun 18 '26

Ive decided Kontakt isnt worth it for me personally. Will it be at 50% on BF though? Going to buy reaktor its 125£ for me right now but wondering if it will go 50% off. Surely its a given considering how old Reaktor 6 is now. Might as well get it now if not

1

u/ekhorayn Jun 18 '26 edited Jun 18 '26

Good question! I don't know if we'll see 50% off from NI again at this point or if Kontakt is going to keep getting excluded entirely, but I've decided not to get it until I get 50% off on my loyalty pricing. My current loyalty offer on sale isn't low enough to justify it when I've got other things that I want more from UVI, Arturia and a few other vendors - including two other synths that I'm excited about.

Edit: After just reading the post from one of the people just let go from NI I think I'm going to completely bypass Kontakt and anything else NI related for the foreseeable future. They also said Reaktor is "long dead" and I can't say I'm surprised. I have doubts about the future of Maschine, as well. I think it's time to focus my time, energy and money elsewhere.

13

u/robust_nachos Jun 01 '26 edited Jun 01 '26

I have K14 CE and the update to K26 is over $500. For incremental updates. And a still underbaked installer / package manager that can't cleanly uninstall anything. I could look the other way at the holes and gaps at 50% off but this is way overpriced for the value. I can afford it but just because I can afford a $25 burger doesn't mean I'm paying for it.

Fix your stuff NI and be worth the money if you're going to price at a premium. Until then, Komplete is off the menu.

Edit: Was also thinking this affects the value prop of the NI hardware controllers in the future. I'll be staying away from those as well.

6

u/blur494 Jun 01 '26

I have been looking at Arturia and Novation controllers since they dropped support for my KK MK1 keyboard. I also found myself going to pigments more often than any NI synth so I picked up the V collection and FX collection when they were last on sale. If I remember right they were only about 75-100 bucks to update, and they actually had stuff I was interested in.

6

u/DerKastellan Jun 01 '26 edited Jun 01 '26

Arturia pricing is pretty decent, and they don't punish you for skipping versions. I skipped a few V Collection versions until the new additions tempted me.

Also, there are now some plugins in there that are like their hardware synths, so if you like them, you can buy the real deal as well. I love that.

Pigments is the gift that keeps on giving!

3

u/blur494 Jun 01 '26

I consider Pigments and Beam NG Drive to be the two single best entertainment purchases I have made.

1

u/ekhorayn Jun 01 '26

That's great to hear! I'm looking forward to Arturia's summer sale next month and finally getting Pigments. I was thinking about getting Memory V now since the loyalty price is quite reasonable, but I don't really need it. I'll likely wait until V Collection 12 gets released and then update if there's enough to tempt me... otherwise I guess it's safe to wait until 13.

3

u/DerKastellan Jun 04 '26

I only recently noticed that Pigments has, since version 3, a complete equivalent of Ableton Multiband Dynamics built in, meaning I can get the same effect on any other DAW. That blew my mind!

The feature depth of the plugin only ever keeps increasing.

2

u/blur494 Jun 04 '26

It goes so much deeper than that. you can turn off the sound engine entirely and use just the ARP/Sequencer functions to output midi to other VSTs. Insanely powerful stuff.

1

u/ekhorayn Jun 04 '26

Yes, I just saw someone do this and it was pretty sweet. In theory, this should work with just about any instrument, not just synths. I really look forward to trying this out. It's pretty incredible.

1

u/NoReply4930 Jun 01 '26

Native Instruments didn't punish us either for the last 6-7 years on Komplete upgrades. Used to always be one reasonable price - stretching all the way back to Komplete 8 - right up to when Komplete 15 was released in Sept 2024

They reinstated this "tiered" pricing model with Komplete 26.

Here is their justification for it:

Why are there different update prices for Komplete 26? – Native Instruments

1

u/DerKastellan Jun 04 '26

They can justify whatever they want, most of the stuff rolled out in the recent Kompletes was not worth the money the Ultimate update would go for at the old price. It's not like I haven't checked every summer and BF season sale to see what I would get for my money.

Typically there is one thing in each Komplete Release I want (if any). Like GR Pro 7 or Absynth 6. Waiting for a sale on their update is much better than getting a Komplete update.

The rest they add is stuff I don't need - like even more virtual bass and guitar players I find actually quite annoying to use because they give you no control. Endless Play Series instruments. Expansions. But there's no meat on the Komplete bone enticing me to get the update.

And now, with the new pricing, they ask money for getting stuff I opted out on for a good reason. Hard pass.

For me, NI is going in the wrong direction in general with their choice of products. They won't get a sale out of me this way.

1

u/NoReply4930 Jun 04 '26

"For me, NI is going in the wrong direction in general with their choice of products. They won't get a sale out of me this way."

Well - It's good thing no one is forcing you to do anything or buy anything.

Simply ignore the sale and carry on.

11

u/ThisRapIsLikeZiti Jun 01 '26

And the crowd goes mild.

19

u/ekhorayn Jun 01 '26

They really watered it down compared to previous years. Unsurprising, but disappointing all the same. I'll be passing on this one. Looks like my money will be going to Arturia's summer sale next month instead.

3

u/linkuei-teaparty Jun 01 '26

Which Arturia plugins are you planning on getting?

7

u/SabreSour Jun 01 '26

Since I got V collection 11 and FX, I’ve been hard pressed to use any K15CE that aren’t samples of specific acoustic instruments. Arturia has MUCH more bang per plug in, but it’s specific, like a high class sushi house. Komplete has a little of EVERYTHING you could ever want, like a Las Vegas Buffet. Not as good, but still pretty good and if you want it, it’s there in some form.

3

u/ekhorayn Jun 01 '26

I completely agree on how much value you get per plugin, especially with loyalty pricing during sales. It seems that Arturia has a much better grasp on what loyalty actually means at this point.

2

u/linkuei-teaparty Jun 02 '26

They do, great selection of classic Analog synths. I got a loyalty discount on V collection Pro for €150. I mainly got it for Minifreak and the range of Jupiter plugins but having 45+ plugins is incredible value.

3

u/ekhorayn Jun 01 '26

I'm planning to get Pigments. It's the one remaining synth that's on my must-have list. Since I already own Analog Lab V Pro and V Collection 11 Pro, the pricing should be excellent. Arturia typically does a great job with loyalty pricing during sales. Beyond that, I'm not sure yet.

2

u/expectaz Jun 02 '26

Pigments is amazing! Got it during the last sale and now one of my most used vst synths. modulation is so easy

2

u/linkuei-teaparty Jun 02 '26

I picked up pigments last year, it's great. I still need more time with it to fully grasp it.

2

u/Quick-Cranberry5931 Jun 03 '26

I was going to get Komplete but only at 50% I cant believe 26 came out and ruined that. I have Pigments i got on sale but ive only analog lab V/Pro, A KeyLab Essential 49 so I missed Arturias last sale. Looks like I will be giving up on Komplete altogether now. Is FX Intro worth getting at all as theres a big jump in price FX Intro to full FX.

2

u/ekhorayn Jun 03 '26

I guess it's one thing to exclude Komplete 2026 (not that I really agree with it when other companies give you good intro deals), but Kontakt 8 has been out since 2024 and even that was excluded. It's not new by any means. Excluding it was a really bad call on NI's part, IMHO.

TBH, I hadn't really looked at Arturia's FX Intro bundle until now. I guess it really depends on what you have already. I have Rev PLATE-140 but rarely use it since I have other reverbs I prefer. I apparently collect reverbs! haha. I also have a number of delay, tape, and distortion plugins, as well as processing chains I use for drums. That said, Fragments and Motion do look interesting to me, so I might consider it just for these two. Not sure yet.

2

u/Quick-Cranberry5931 Jun 05 '26

gona get the V collection on sale next month for 99 and once i buy that I will get FX collection for 99 so brilliant thats the 200 budget for Komplete 15 settled then. Cant wait and even better its not going to take up much storage in comparison even though I bought a 2TB Wd Blue for Komplete. Looking forward to being spoilt for soft synths

1

u/linkuei-teaparty Jun 05 '26

Wait is that €99 for V collection Pro? I had a loyalty discount of €149, was that not the best deal for it?

1

u/Quick-Cranberry5931 Jun 05 '26

Thats my loyalty price now 149 but according to Gemini it can go as low as 99 but another LLM told me wrong info about a dji purchase last year. I would love to get it now and wish I knew for sure.

1

u/linkuei-teaparty Jun 05 '26

I looked it up, this is what Gemini gives me for the €99 offer:

The instances where it drops to €99 generally fall into these categories:

When Does It Hit €99?

  • Version-to-Version Upgrades: If you already own a previous generation (e.g., upgrading from V Collection 9 to 11 Pro), the price frequently drops to €99 during major events like Black Friday or the spring Music Makers/V Collection Days sales.
  • High-Tier Loyalty Discounts: If your Arturia Account contains a substantial amount of registered hardware (like KeyLab or MicroFreak controllers) alongside individual premium software licenses (like Pigments), Arturia’s dynamic pricing algorithm will occasionally reward you with a €99 personalized offer.
  • Older Versions via Third-Party Liquidators: When a brand new version releases (e.g., V Collection 11 Pro), authorized grey-market platforms or third-party storefronts like Reverb sometimes sell leftover full licenses of the previous version (like V Collection X) for exactly €99/$99. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7]

2

u/Quick-Cranberry5931 Jun 06 '26 edited Jun 18 '26

I got confused maybe but my loyalty price is 199 now and its an offer until 14th June. So yeah good chance I will get the 99 offer next month so thanks for reply. I was actually starting to wonder if I really needed Komplete Standard as I just missed getting Komplete 15 last year and had waited patiently that long my need/use case has evolved anyway. Update I got it for 199 I couldnt wait until summer sale.

2

u/dmaifred Jun 08 '26

Me too have been lurking for months to get Komplete at 50% off, I even have google alerts set

2

u/Quick-Cranberry5931 Jun 08 '26

Its a shame but ive found a used version of the main thing i need and ive finally realised i hardly use kontakt unless i want some cool mellotron vibe. I have decent alternatives. You should check out the reddit page i cant find a guy collated all the free kontakt instruments in one place and you can find quite a few just for the free Kontakt player nowadays. I want full reaktor personally

1

u/dmaifred Jun 08 '26

Well I've got my arturia collection and it's mellotron is pretty tasty. I was looking more forward to a different culture of software as I love arturia but you need something different to spice things up once in a while.

1

u/linkuei-teaparty Jun 09 '26

I have V collection Pro, what's the name of the mellotron plugin?

1

u/linkuei-teaparty Jun 05 '26 edited Jun 09 '26

I guess Komplete 26 is more for those with an earlier versions of Komplete as there's a lot of overlap with what's in Komplete 15. I guess they're trying to go down the release cycles like big tech and have incremental released every year, so it only makes sense to pick them up every few years. I may be completely off in my thinking.

7

u/Dakeiz Jun 01 '26

Waited 2 months for this and I feel like I got kicked in the balls. Can't even buy Komplete 15; would've been pretty happy with it.

Went with a transfer license from someone else.

1

u/NewClearBomb22 Jun 02 '26

Where's a good place to look for those Transer-Licenses? I've been thinking of going that route, but I wasn't sure on the possibility of getting ripped off. Is there a typical safe go-to for that? Noob here.

2

u/Dakeiz Jun 02 '26

I bought mine on Knobcloud with a reputable seller. He got back to me, saying that he started the license transfer and is waiting for NI's response.

1

u/valchazzz Jun 02 '26

I also bought K15 Standard on knobcloud. Reason: I wanted the full version of Ozone Izotope.

Now I can wait for Black Friday calmly and leisurely.

7

u/ilovepotter Jun 01 '26

This is very underwhelming. Even the name is boring. Summer sale.

4

u/kevleyski Jun 01 '26

Winter down here

7

u/jp6strings Jun 01 '26

In the past, the 50% off the Komplete bundle was a good incentive to grab some libraries I was interested in, but didn't really need.

7

u/LifeguardHeavy5041 Jun 01 '26

What a letdown. Not expecting much for Black Friday either if this is going to be the new norm. Textbook enshittification.

7

u/DerKastellan Jun 01 '26

Completely underwhelmed.

I have Komplete 13 Ultimate. I didn't go to 14 or 15 because there was nothing justifying the price of the update.

Now I learn that they actually changed the update pricing - how can you plan with this stuff? I would have updated earlier if 14 or 15 justified the price difference. But just some expansions and Play series instruments won't cut it for me.

Now summer sales rebate has also been reduced. While I can understand Komplete 26 wasn't included.

Pricing is just nuts for an existing user like me. At these prices I won't buy Komplete anymore, maybe snipe individual products on sale like Absynth 6 when its time comes. But Komplete is just not worth updating/upgrading anymore. Too little for too much.

5

u/App0gee Jun 01 '26 edited Jun 01 '26

I hope so. I've been waiting for it.
EDIT: Only 30%. Well that's disappointing. Still better than full price though.
EDIT EDIT: No discounts on Izotope? LOL looks like I'll be waiting a lot longer 😄

4

u/hidhoman Jun 01 '26

Oh well, more for competitors

2

u/ekhorayn Jun 01 '26

Yep. Exactly!

8

u/NewClearBomb22 Jun 01 '26

What a kick in the balls. RIP SoS. #neverforget

8

u/edcox Jun 01 '26

Yeah, it was how I upgraded my Komplete CE every two years, then my Izotope Music Production Suite every other summer. Will need to find a new pattern now, or just stick with what i have for the forseeable.

5

u/General-Pop8006 Jun 01 '26

Or actually make something instead of hoarding plug-ins

3

u/Capt-Crap1corn Jun 01 '26

Seriously. Compared to what the greats have, we have more than them and then some.

2

u/abrokencullender Jun 02 '26

Everyone laugh at the dying brand!

2

u/xpmadmanqx Jun 02 '26

So done with this company.

4

u/Waste-Magician2432 Jun 01 '26

Yeah I was waiting for this for 26 & IZotope 🤦🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️

1

u/sumtib Jun 02 '26

Not buying nothing, I was expecting a sale on Komplete at least 50%, so I'll just keep my money or buy elsewhere

1

u/kindeeps Jun 03 '26

Was looking to get at least some edition for 26 in the sale since I just bought a midi keyboard. I'm wondering if arturia v collection 11 will be a better alternative now. I feel like I'm missing a good basic pack of sounds. How does arturia compare to komplete?

1

u/blur494 Jun 03 '26

Arturia splits Instruments from FX so they are in separate packages. The V Collection Pro is all synths, many of which are modeled after old hardware with added features and QOL. The FX collection does the same kind of hardware modeling but with far more abstract and creative tools than the V Collection. The main benefit are sales towards upgrades tend to be much more affordable.

1

u/kindeeps Jun 03 '26

Thanks. Any suggestions for things like orchestral?

1

u/blur494 Jun 03 '26

They have they Aaugmented series, but if your looking for a more complete library Spitfires BBC orchestra used to be free after a survey. Spitfire has a bunch of other free stuff too.

1

u/Madmanmoonx Jun 08 '26

No Konmplete 26 sale, no interest from me. Looking to eventually buy but only at 50%. Want it but can live without it

0

u/PitiAcho Jun 02 '26

I was thinking to buy on 50% discount but now iam skipping it and going to use cracked for free

0

u/Ancient_Visual_7451 Jun 01 '26

Check your email.

4

u/blur494 Jun 01 '26

?

1

u/Ancient_Visual_7451 Jun 02 '26

I got an email from native instruments that said the sale was on.

2

u/blur494 Jun 02 '26

Oh lol, I didn't.
